Have heard Jenkins has re-signed with Crows, in fact was done some time ago, just won't be announced til later in the year. Source is a mate with very strong AFC connections including a club legend.

You were right in him re-signing with them but it wasn't done more than a few days back.

Matt Lloyd mentioned us as one of 5 clubs that should be enquiring about Jenkins for next year. Justification was that Jenkins having been omitted and behind Himmelberg, missed out on some confidence boosting matches against GCS & St Kilda that got their forwards back into some form and if he's not being selected, then he should look at another club with key forward needs that would take him on.

I personally would like to see how we function in the 2nd half of the year with our key backs hopefully returned and in form, which may give Tmac, Weid & Preuss some added confidence with more time together, before hunting another forward. However if Jenkins came cheap, he has the kind of imposing frame and perhaps some experience that could aid us next year. And a wake up call that he's only got a couple of years left to make an impact could see him put together a decent year or two.

Jenkins is a small forward in a big mans body.

No thanks...

This is a persistent opinion, but it seems like low hanging fruit to me. Surely there is more strings to his bow than this often remarked comment about goals out the back. 278 goals from 140 games has to account for something surely? Edit: He monstered Rance too so he has shown ability as a key forward, maybe he just needs a fresh start?

Dropped by the Crows and will be 31 next season.

Surely we arent that desperate

I think we should be more desperate to take a low risk punt on an experienced key forward if we can't get ourselves in order by the end of the year, than to recruit another casey vfl depth player.

Any whispers on JJ OR another KPF target to provide a foil for Tmac? Or will we risk 2020 with the same forward line and become an absolute shambles again with an injury or two? Kicked 9 goals in the 3 games before he was dropped again.

22 goals in 11 games while being on the outer of the club, a marked man for leaking stories about how much of a rabble the club is internally.Would've kicked 40 for the 6th season in a row with a full season.

4 goals from 300.

And still the usual snobs in here will throw up the 'goals out the back' & 'jane in a tarzans body' lazy throwaway lines that fly in the face of the consistent stats.

Tmac, Jenkins, Petty & Weid should be fighting for those two or three spots, now that Tim Smith and probably Keilty are gone.

I'll go with the opinion of Matt Lloyd over most in here.

A 3rd or 4th rounder for him considering he is 31. Will help out T.Mac enormously go get him.

Wouldn't go near him, this bloke is way too soft, can't play as a key forward.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
