Early time of year but I read somewhere Heppell would consider leaving the Dons would love/ hope Goodwin and Macartney do there best to bring him across would fit in nicely!! Thoughts?

I would be feeling very worried as a bombers supporter after that article in the hun(?)

Hawthorn will throw every spare cent they have at him, they're desperate to re-build their midfield for when Hodge, Mitchell and Lewis retire.

I think heppell would compliment our midfield perfectly, hopefully having Goody at least puts us in with a chance of snagging him

Not too sure about that: may have the Samson affect!

Otherwise I'd love him at the Dee's (but unfortunately I don't think it will happen).

Me either. Probably the most likely to stay, next captain and comes from a family of bombers diehards

Do you have a link?

That would be awesome if we could get this guy.

Can't see him leaving, just can't see it happening. If he goes he goes for a Scully contact (over market value). That won't be cheap, and the dees have committed to what they have so I can't see us having an offer large enough to sway him.

Absolutely deefella.  we have to have a strong finish to this season.

Have to give up something very good to get something good.

I'm enjoying the players we have. I am happy for us to sign up our own for what they are worth and get on with it. Bringing in players on "overs" can create inflationary pressure on a club.

I thought the banned Bombers players had the choice of becoming delisted free agents?

Yep, it seems they can legally have their contracts null and void so other than monetary it doesn't cost us a thing, they will just get compo from AFL.

Even if it were to happen, I doubt we'd be high on his list of destination clubs

Article in the paper the other day indicates the Crows are into him in a big way.

I agree. Is he a free agent?

no. he would have to go the dfa path based on contract breach, or, convince essendrug he's going no matter what and let them trade him

the former option obviously suits us but he could take the latter option to avoid more bad blood

Second Heppell thread in days....

What did he say anyway? Havent seen any articles

Last time I courted someone I ended up with a ring on my finger and a child, so no, no we shouldn't be courting him.

I don't approve of us signing any of the drug cheats, unless they're good players..

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
