For those that don't know. Mony Python - The Argument sketch

A man walks into an office.

Man: (Michael Palin) Ah. I'd like to have an argument, please.

Receptionist: Certainly sir. Have you been here before?

Man: No, this is my first time.

Receptionist: I see. Well, do you want to have the full argument, or were you thinking of taking a course?

Excellent - I look forward to your work with the fish slapping dance!!  Actually, my favourite has to be the cheese shop sketch "sorry, I was deliberately wasting your time".

On JV, I share the man love. He is a pleasure to watch. Him and Vandenberg when on fire are making up for having to watch tripe these last few years. My son is dusting off his old Brad Miller jumper as we speak. I think he will continue to grow as an on-field leader through the year and others will naturally follow him. Suspension is his only enemy.

"Yes"

"Ok - I'll have some of that then."

Yeah this worrys me a little too, its not an intent to hurt but its the AFL's intent to over adjudicate.

That's what I was getting at too AW. He will get weeks sometime for hurting one of the leagues darlings, no matter how legal the tackle is. It will get adjudicated in hindsight. He is one driven and hard at it footballer. The snipers of the game need more scrutiny, not the JVs.

But he's going to Port Adelaide isn't he? :P

And Alex Neal Bullen (and probably Billy Stretch) is chronically home sick and wants a trade to an SA club....according to Bigfooty.

I would have thought Nathan Jones would be in the mix for toughest players in the comp, to play a quality season like he did last year with the injury he had is insane!! we are really fortunate with the tough players we're starting to assemble in our side.

The relief I felt after opening this thread to find Monty Python quotes rather than any Damien Barrett talk was immense to say the least.

Perhaps keep the chat to Viney in here and take MP (and Barrett) to the no TS thread (whatever happens in there...)

I could hardly be more impressed by his past 12 months and I wonder what his ceiling could be.

Would love to see him start to add some goal scoring power in the future as goal kicking mids are crucial in dominant teams IMO.

It's sobering to think that only two of his goals have been in games we've won. Geez we've been putrid!

Dunno what I expected when starting this thread but this wasn't it....maybe can merge with the Viney Made Me Cry thread (just remembered it now or I would've posted in there) and delete/move all the off topic posts?

Viney is an aggressive freak, someone I love who actually relishes hitting and being hit, the physical aspect of footy. Freakish goals and marks are great but winning a hard ball or sticking a big tackle is one of the great aspects of the game that I love watching and you can tell Viney just feeds off it. He is going to be hurting opponents for years to come and it's going to be a ;pleasure to watch. With him, Brayshaw, Oliver, Petracca forming a midfield nucleus of hard nuts teams will hate playing us over the next decade.

Obviously a humorous thread.

When Melbourne wins, I read every single footballing site on the planet, BF included. You've got to know where to go - particularly in the lead up to the draft there's some quality reads to be found.

I'm exactly the same. My productivity for the week halves after a Dees win.

BF is a huge site and there is some really great posters/threads if you know where to look.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
