They'll return when they are ready.  Does it matter if it's 2 weeks or 3 weeks or 4 weeks.  They are hardly critical at the moment and I'd imagine if we stay fit they'll be given plenty of time to ensure they play the second half of the season.

We can be conservative and we are. Good planning I say.  I think you're being a bit picky.

I wonder if posters would be happier with Geelongs approach to injuries.

I just watched their injury report and they divide injuries into three lists - short term injuries, medium term injuries, long term injuries - they do not specify "weeks". It is safer and it recognises that the human body is not a machine that you can be definitive about exact times recoveries take.

I have no problem with our club listing weeks and by the same token I don't have issues if they say 2 weeks for injury and when it doesn't respond as it should, it ends up taking 4 weeks.

what? they don't have  "mystery injury" or "missing from injury" categories? sounds pretty dodgy

I'm not sure about you Nut but I've lived through the era where if there was one article about your club in the newspapers during the week (no internet) you'd be pretty happy. The amount of information about the club and the players is terrific now and if the odd bit of information is missing that's life.  And injuries are an interesting thing.  I think it was Crouch of Sydney who asked the club not to release his medical situation when he was sidelined for a while.  But now it seems that if you're an AFL footballer your medical history is public knowledge and people are annoyed if it isn't available and accurate.

Let the whingers whinge. If people get upset because estimates of injury time change let them get upset.  There is no pleasing some.

I think we just need to recognise that the human body is weird and wonderful thing (especially mine) so what we are told about a players length of time on the sidelines compared to the actuality is not a reflection on the doctors/surgeons/fitness staff but merely an acceptance that the body will heal to its own timetable not necessarily one that is published on a club's website

Most recognize this and I think those that don't won't.  They either don't have the intellect or don't have the will.

Either way it doesn't matter. You're bashing your head against a brick wall.  I'd stop if I were you.

Not only that but there are hundreds of people on Demonland with a better diagnosis than the club doctors.......!!

Matt Jones has finally made it onto the injury list with a back injury. A couple of weeks out should see him back.

Not sure if he was injured when rested with general soreness or whether the soreness was something more sinister than first thought.

Heritier Lumumba is out another week with concussion but Angus Brayshaw and Chistian Salem are both available.

Now that there's wifi at the MCG surely it can't be too hard for the doctors to access Demonland during games and get instant crowd-sourced diagnoses of injuries and treatment options. Should improve performance substantially.

I have heard that Jones had a dislocated rib around the back area.....I don't know if true or not but would explain the "Sore" tag

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
