Agreed, I loved Hogan's game on the weekend. Wasn't the star but he played his role incredibly well while Watts' got most of the chocolates. He was leading up the ground which is something we didn't see much of during the opening two rounds. Loved his big grab in the third quarter as well. Regardless, he will still kick 50+ goals this year.

I am confident we will beat Richmond because the new game plan was always going to take some time to bed in. In addition 3 new players (Kennedy, Bugg & Oliver) and now 5, in which to learn how to play together and how each other plays. Also the coaching staff are learning the best'fit' for each player.

One of the really interesting things I have heard Roos say over the journey was in the last few weeks. He spoke about the players not being in a position to give them a spray to g them up as it wasn't what they needed or responded to. He spoke about how the players were looking for answers and wanted to learn and know why things weren't working. Roos seemed really pleased with this approach from the players and noted that the coaches had taken this on board and adjusted how they were doing things in order to become the teachers to a young group who were hungry to learn and improve. 

I think it is fantastic that both the players have such a thirst for knowledge and improvement, and that we now have coaches who can recognise that and change the way they do things to get the best out of the players.

I made a bet for a rather excessive amount of money with a richmond supporting mate, roughly 10 years ago, that we would make a grand final before they did. In the last 2 years he has been telling me that i better have it ready for him and i keep responding that Richmond are in the process of a fake rise and really need to look at their list as a whole and start pretty much from scratch.

Nothing sweeter than beating Richmond and further highlighting to him that at this stage in both lists development I am more likely to see one than he is.

Not hard to see what Richmond's problem is, as far as gameplans go. Short, easily intercepted kicks and handballs in defence. They collapse badly against high-pressure teams because their high-possession gameplan doesn't stack up under pressure, mostly because of poor skills and lack of leadership (sound familiar?)

If we go into this game highly offensive with manic pressure, we give ourselves every chance to win. If we're dumb enough to fall for the Essendon trick of allowing them to play keepings off while they get cheap goals when we leave holes in defense, we will lose.

Roosy's record against Hardwick would indicate he's long worked out how to counter the Tigers, and it looks like most of the competition has caught on.

I think we match-up well with Richmond, better than we do with Collingwood imo, but either way it's still a 50/50 contest. Really depends on if August Richmond or April Richmond shows up.

It just shows you what sort of trouble their list is in. Absolutely no depth whatsoever. They have to make a call on Hardwick this season. I'd be saying thanks very much, but we need to get a new bloke in because we want to play 2017 footy next year. They almost seem gun-shy towards sacking a coach due to their history, but ultimately I think they have to make the call.

He was asked on the footy show if he would consider an offer to coach at another club, he laughed and basically said zero chance, acknowledged that's what he said last time but he's leaving the country.

They do need someone experienced though, i wonder if the Pies or Tigers would appeal to someone like Bomber Thompson
