missed this somehow but very pertinent.

Imagine possibly Hurley and Frost.. Or May...etc...or...who ever. Thing is  Mac wants to play realistic or its the door.

Ill go silly and suggest the club know exactly what they will concede to $ wise and also how much gamesmanship they will accept from his management .

Im not sure either are that bright to be honest ( not the club )

(caveat  yes they both earn more than me...many do lol )

Spot on BB. I think we should have faith in this administration to get these negotiations right. We have not been hurt at all by free agent/out of contract departures (Rivers, Clark, Frawley, Howe, Scully). In fact if anything it has strengthened the team because we got high draft choices in return which we used to trailor high draft talent to our team needs.

It also allowed us to build a stronger team culture and offer fair value to the whole team, at least potentially. If Tom mcd doesn't want to buy into that team culture, then he can and should go and will miss out on our golden era in declining teams like Hawthorn, North, Richmond, Carlton who in my view would be the prime candidates target him.

But is it really that far overs picket? As the contracts continue to roll over and the new money pours in, the player salaries will continue to rise.

This probably the new reality..player payment inflation

Thought this was supposed to be a football forum. Don't we get enough endless repetition of mindless political rivalries elsewhere...

we offered a huge amount of $$ and years to hooker to cross over from peptideville.

i would imagine that sort of offer has severely coloured what tommy mac thinks he's worth.

for mine, i can't imagine him earning less than $550k a year for the next five years. he's a very, very good defender and is only 23, turning 24 this finals-series. he's already, arguably, in the top dozen key defenders in the competition, alongside the likes of rance, talia, hurley, hooker, taylor, gibson, frawley, tarrant, et al.

we need to keep him.

edit: venom denham has said on sen a four, five year deal is nearing completion, and a deal for hogan is not far away.

If you'd said that to the poster I've just responded to I wouldn't have needed to.

interesting that their post is 22 hours old yet you say nothing to them.  They don't post what they did and we're not having this interlude.

Just showing your colours I suspect.

How do you know what we offered Hooker? It's all media here say and from what they said he was offered the most from Freo.

I would've thought it's the right wing neo-cons who want to do away with borders - as long as it only applies to capital of course ;)

You leftues never shut up.

I'm left handed.  When I was at school in the 60's the nuns thought it was akin to the devil.  Ahhhh, got it now, that is why anybody who questions the accepted norm, is a crazy, Chardonnay sipping, politically correct, do-gooder, loony leftie.  Makes a lot of sense to me now. Epithets................ these easiest tag to put on someone with a differing point of view, that there is.

LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres

2024 Player Reviews: #35 Harry Petty

Failed to fulfill the promise of his breakout six goal effort against the Tigers in 2023 and was generally disappointing as a key forward. It remains to be seen whether Simon Goodwin will persevere with him in attack or return him to the backline where he was an important cog in the club’s 2021 premiership success. 2024 Player Reviews: #22 Blake Howes

After a bright start to the season, playing mostly in defence, Howes seemed to lose his way in midseason but fought back with some good performances at Casey and finished the year back at AFL level. One to watch in 2024. Date of Birth: 7 March 2003 Height: 191cm Games MFC 2024: 15 Career Total:  15 Goals MFC 2024: 0 Career Total:  0 Games CDFC 2024: 6 Goals CDFC 2024: 0

2024 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Originally an NBL basketballer with the Brisbane Bullets, he moved across town in 2019 to the AFL Lions where he played 19 games before crossing to Melbourne where he was expected to fill a role as a back up ruckman/key forward. Unfortunately, didn’t quite get there although he did finish equal sixth in Casey’s best and fairest award. Date of Birth: 23 February 1999 Height: 198cm Games CDFC: 14 Goals CDFL: 13

2024 Player Reviews: #10 Angus Brayshaw

Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. His loss to the club was inestimable over and above his on field talent given his character and leadership qualities, all of which have been sorely missed. 2024 Player Reviews: #40 Taj Woewodin

The son of former Demon Brownlow Medalist Shane, Taj added a further 16 games to his overall tally of games but a number were as substitute. He is slowly fitting into the team structure but without doing anything spectacular and needs to take further steps forward in 2025 for his career to progress. The clever small was unable to cement a place in the Melbourne midfield and spent most of his time this year with the Casey Demons where he finished equal fourth in its best & fairest.
