Actually more of a half forward/midfielder.. i have no doubt if he didn't do hos knee he would have stayed up forward all year.

and probably would've kicked 45 goals the kids outstanding probably better than Hogan I watched him live last year best U 18 player Iv ever seen by a long stretch.

Btw, humour me if you will...

I'd be astonished if you weren't an only child with many of your 'traits'. Confirm ?

Oh, this will be fun. Can we get to the point where you proclaim your distaste for the posters on here and leave for the 8th time?

But, the one thing I want to know before you go is - why do you have space between the end of your question and the question mark?

Why would I use the career stats of someone who for most of his career has been played in the backline of the worst inside 50 and scoring team going around? At least use a bit of logic.

And look, if you want me to start all my posts with "In my opinion...." then I'll set up a template just for you, but I think it's a given on an internet discussion board most posts are going to be based on opinion, especially about something as objective as footy.

I think you mean subjective Stu!

As has been said, Watts at Hawthorn, Freo, Pt Adelaide, West Coast et al and instead of taking the second best defender he takes whatevers left!

Would absolutely go Bananas in a top side! I have absolutely no doubt.

!Hypothethically, how would Bruest go in our side?? I'll tell you ..Shizen!!

Watts can play is a smart ball user and creative! In a side where pure class is almost non existent he has shown capability.

If he improves like I expect next year, look out he will be a handful IMO

It's really only you. Now to your question...

It's French typesetting. Some like it, others don't. Naturally, you can please yourself.

Now your turn ... I'd lay London to a brick you're an only child with these personality traits. Confirm ?

People seem to be offended by opinions that differ from their own, so I'm pleased to oblige.

Watts was dropped twice in 2015, so he's certainly no lay down misere to be a staple in the best 22.

Roos said in his B&F speech that we'd have a team of 22 competitors in 2016. So Watts is certainly no lay down misere to be a staple in the best 22.

Jack Viney is the epitome of a player with urgency on the football field. Jack Watts is the antithesis of a player with urgency on the football field.

The club would have traded Watts this exchange period if there'd been a suitor. No-one was interested. Hardly surprising.

Watts is definitely not in my best 22 and I'll be surprised if he plays 10 senior games next year.

My best 22 is fluid, but as it currently stands:

Jetta Dunn Garland

Melksham McDonald Salem

Vince Jones Brayshaw

Petracca Hogan vandenBerg

Garlett Pedersen Kent

Gawn Tyson Viney

Frost Trengove Stretch Bugg

E: Harmes ANB Lumumba

Depth: Grimes Kennedy Mitchie McDonald White Dawes JKH Jones King Spencer Watts

The scary thing is how much money falls under the "emergency/depth".

Not really actually.. i am one of Watts biggest critics but Petracca is coming from a long way back from injury. He will be eased into pre season footy very slowly. Lets not forget Petracca has not played senior footy at any level in his career so the intensity and speed of the game will come as a real shock to him. It will take him a couple of weeks to adjust to senior footy just like Brayshaw at the start of the year.

With the sub gone and interchange rotations down to 90 Watts will hopefully become very important for us as he has the ability to gut run and create space. Infact Watts hard running doesn't get the reward he deserves from his teamates.

Now one of Petraccas biggest weakness is his not a hard running midfielder or half forward at all. Does alot of his work in close. In fact his endurance needs a bit of work.. a fair bit now considering he has had a year off. He is going to blow up big time in the first couple of games.

So to put Petracca ahead of Watts in round 1 is laughable. I am just as excited to see Trac next year no question at all but Watts is ahead of him atm.

I don't think either of them will play Round 1.

The French?

I am flattered you want to know so much about me.

Alas, no I am not an 'only' child, but I don't know what traits you are referring to...

If it is pedantry, that would be rich coming from the bloke who jumped down a poster's throat for implying the draft is a lottery when you are only comfortable with 'somewhat of a lottery'...

I think it best of you don't make this a list of each other's personality faults because yours are longer than mine, and if you don't think so - that's a lack of self-reflection...

You can add that to the list...

There are three guarantees in life.

Death, taxes and a monthly thread about Jack Watts.

I can't see how anything new can be said about him anymore.

And nurses.

Sid James was on to that little lurk early

Watts's biggest advantage was the fact we didn't have any talent on the list. We do now. Watts at his potential best , is damaging but he no longer an automatic inclusion.

i remember being impressed by his mid season patch of form , but i did find myself swooning over acts of play that would not have raised an eyebrow if another player had performed them. Fact is, the bar is set so low with JW now, that a one on one contested mark gets us excited and screaming that JW has turned the corner.

Would I want the ball in his hands 80m out from goal in a grand final? YES

Would i want him in a contest for the footy at half forward in a grand final ? NO WAY .

Hes a cream on top player but we are hopefully accruing talent equal to his that also wins their own ball.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
