Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Looks like he is going to get a soft tap on the wrist for his social media 'work': http://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-confidential-demon-clayton-olivers-facebook-slam-kieran-collins-nickname-nab-challenge-ladder/news-story/a83c43d17b7a20c85d4d6fd8b4014e58

He has a good sense of humour!  But "AFL Confidential hears the club may be putting a stop to his frequent comments in the near future. So enjoy them while they last."

I guess the club has little choice...keep him out of the limelight and the headlines or it might backfire on him.  No need to invite media criticisms of Dees players!

Harmless so far, and I hope they don't over control the situation, but he definitely needs a quiet word.

Surely no one is allowed to play without a mouthguard!  Mouthguard's have changed since I played (rugby.... sorry). They can be almost invisible now ... but you simply should not be allowed to play without one!!  You shouldn't train without one. (I'm the son of a dentist)

And on topic... He is a mighty exciting young player... very very excited... could be anything...

That's what I thought. He's a country lad who clearly hasn't had the publicity coaching that others like Weideman have - this was obvious when the pair were interviewed. Best to knock it on the head while it is still harmless and funny.

Agree with everything you say. They make them now so that you barely even notice you've got one in. Not too sure how many teeth mouthguards save, but they can also be very effective for preventing concussions

Have to agree with everything thats been said about this guy. I'm so looking forward to see him blossom and help this club rise.

I saw him yesterday in the supermarket and approached him. I shook his hand and wished him all the best for the season. He seemed like a very personable young guy and didnt seem too concerned about some random old fan talking too him. I guess it's still a novelty for him. Wont be for much longer though.

Ps I'm big but hes gonna be massive.

This kid's gunna be a gun.

Shows that we need to back the judgement of Jason Taylor every day of the week over the blokes who pick the under 18s rep teams.

Jason Taylor has been another stellar recruit for this club.

It was mentioned before but i love the way he jumps into the tackler so he is elevated and  it is impossible to pin his arms and this move means he has taken the tackler out of the play but still allows him to release the handball.

He needs to be careful as leaving the ground into an opponent can have repercussions but I have seen him execute this 3 or 4 times and each time he has done it to perfection.

I have not necessarily agreed with commentary that big  18 years old's have AFL ready bodies.  A large looking frame can mask the reality that they lack the toning and indeed strength of a more mature footballer (as Viney pointed out about Petracca) - apparently no one has told this to Oliver as he already has no issue using his body as a weapon.

I think he will be scarily strong with a couple of seasons and preseasons under his belt.

Very early days but jeez, Oliver has a real 'Dangerfield' vibe about him. His breakaway pace and genuine X factor means he could be anything. That mark he took on the weekend oozed confidence as well. Having the guts to take on your man one on one in the defensive 50 and take a specky on him, you don't see that from many first year players.

It is surely totally different taking a tackle jumping that jumping to make a tackle.

Still, given the MRP history of running test cases on Demons, who knows what they will do

I agree but follow the MRP's thinking ( or lack thereof) - the head is the head. Whilst I agree with the general idea that the head must be protected, there must be recognition that the game is physical and played at 100 miles an hour.

yes there was the Trengove sling tackle case and

the Viney Adelaide sandwich case and

the Sylvia got a broken jaw but it wasn't the tacklers fault no case and

was it Sylvia (?) again who got rubbed out for two weeks for running threateningly past some bloke but having no actual contact. That one was the most disgraceful of all.

It was Moloney...if it wasn't our team it would have been comedy gold.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
