My favourite part of grand final day

He will not come close to winning it. He's got a few good attributes, but his speed is not one of them.

If he's small and has no speed, how did he make an AFL list?

That's what many on here are beginning to question.

He's nimble, reads the play well, has good skills and is apparently a good leader. He definitely had a case of the second-year blues in 2015, but I think he's got potential to be a decent AFL player.

the gf sprint is an absolute farce

clubs don't even enter their best sprinters

i don't know why they bother, it is so amateurish and embarrassing

He seems to react quickly, read the play well and is evasive when he has the footy. He doesn't have raw speed over 20m.

He's a good footy player.

I much prefer the desire to turn footy players into athletes that we seem to doing in the last two years than trying to get some 'specimens' in and teach them footy.

JKH has the lowest centre of gravity but shouldn't we be entering Frost?

Meatloaf.

Should have been invited back to do a duo with Ozzy.

I might be a bit strange, but my favourite part of grand final day is the game itself.

Often it is just the first quarter.

Phew thought i was the only one.

Frost is still missing a toe. Should be alright in 4 to 6.

The Batmobile with Angry Anderson.....Roy Slaven & H.G. Nelson Commentary

Best 20 minutes of comedy i ever recorded!!

Looking forward to an hour or more of kick to kick at the open day on Sunday

I'm so torn about tomorrow. It would be horrible to see Hawthorn win a THIRD flag in a row, but I've got so many Eagle supporting mates and the last thing that I want is to see them happy. I'll be watching with the hope that both teams lose.

Take heart! It is still possible that Daniel Chick has kept the receipts.

Eagles could win a premiership and be stripped of one in the same week.

That would also make Roos a two-time premiership coach by default.

How sweet it would be...

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
