Who do you think will finish with the most votes at the end of Friday night?

Vote away and Go Dees!

The Jones boy.

Again.

Can anyone please enlighten me as to how the voting works? I remember that one year recently, every player was awarded votes from 1-7 for every game played resulting in the strange result that players who might have played just one poor game for the year still got votes. Is it still that system? if so, it makes it hard for players who missed multiple games with injury irrespective of how well they played when on the park (eg, Viney).

Bernie. That patch of form was white hot. Best form I've seen at the MFC since Woewodin in 2000.

Jones and McDonald to round out the top 3. Viney to make a late charge to finish top 5, but will prove to have missed too many games to challenge the others.

Viney has been our most consistent performer this year IMO. Didn't have the real form slump that the top 3 had, at least not that I can recall.

Shocked that more people think Tommy Mac will win than Jonesy.

Tom McDonald will poll well early in the year

Viney wil poll very well late in the year.

Gawn's influence in games has been immense - may surprise with how well he polls.

Bernie will win it, he hit a patch late which will definitely rule him out of AA but he did go through a patch there where he was holding his won and beating the bets mids in the comp

1. Vince

2. Viney (missed a few but will finish very strongly

3. Cross

I reckon at the halfway mark, McDonald would have had a bigger lead than Vo Rogue

He had an ordinary month or so but has finished pretty solidly> he was among our best in most of the woeful team performances of the last month

Wow - very one sided so far. Thought there would be more love for Tommy Mac. Thinking that Dunn will poll well as he does do the 'team' thing, and he did chop out TMac on a few occasions. Gawn to do well in the second half, but should be Vince, Tommy, Viney, Jones, Cross, Hogan pretty clearly.

Tommy was undoubtedly our best in the first third of the year but he regressed from QB onward - unfortunately, too many of the brain fades and shocking disposals that blighted previous years. I do wonder if he started to try and do too much after Cloke got the chocolates against him, he does seem to beat himself up after a bad performance. He also wasn't helped by being shoved forward for a few games. He did ok there at times but he should only be tried there again as a pinch hit or in an emergency.

Viney missed 6 games, which will make it difficult for him to be top 4.

Tom McDonald has had some very ordinary games.

Nathan Jones stank from round 16. Round 23 is about the only decent game of the last 8.

Bernie somewhat comfortably I would think.

Hogan, Jonesy, T Mac, Viney to round out top five.

Hogan should be in the top five , it's just the order of the 3rd 4th and 5th out of Hoges, Jones and Viney, but Vince and Tmac will be top two in my opinion.

I couldn't find anyone had answered this question so here's last year vote details.

The votes are cast by four members of Melbourne's match committee who give players a score from 0-10 for each game.

I'm afraid that description needs more detail from someone in the know because last year's top five scored between 238 and 311.

That would imply that Jones scored four out of 10 on average for each game last season - if he's scored that low then god help us.

1. Nathan Jones (311)

2. Dom Tyson (293)

3. Bernie Vince (270)

4. Lynden Dunn (264)

5. Daniel Cross (238)

But regardless of the system, it fair to say that we have a really even bunch this year with four players who could win it I think.

Tom Mc - brilliant early, poor middle, very good late

Vince - late start, very good middle part of year, poor finish once he got sick, except for last game.

Viney - injured Rds 2-8. Most consistent player since.

Jones - solid all year but not as spectacular as 2014.

You could also make a case for Jesse Hogan, but tin my view, he was too hot or cold - as all forwards are.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
