I now have an image of O'Meara being presented with his MFC guernsey at a press conference, cameras everywhere, people cheering, and then PJ hands him a big sack.

"Is this them?" Asks Jeager. PJ gives a subtle nod. Jeager completes his interviews and photo opps, but his mind is elsewhere.

After his PR responsibilities are done, Jeager races home with his sack. He opens it. Could it be? Yes, it is! The left nut of every single poster on Demonland!

Jeager O'Meara then goes on to become the greatest player of all time, returning home after each game to his collection of... preciouses...

Is his nickname 'squirrel'?

Ha ha, no way he would want to come to us.

oh come on Gorforoth, give me one reason he wouldn't wanna come to the MFC!! Just one!

Or 100 if you prefer

Maybe, certainly clubs like ours can only get the attention of a player like O'Meara by offering a big deal - like the Bulldogs with Boyd. But they got their man in a relatively turbulent period. It might be a remote possibility, but not an impossibility.

Can't think of one just yet, I'll get back to you. :)

Reports are that we are heavily interested in him.

The A grader that we need, hopefully there is some truth to it.

Love those with reports.

We might be into him but he wouldn't be into us and I can't see what we can offer the Suns that would allow a trade to happen while he's still under contract.

He's from WA, no go home factor, the only Vic clubs he may go to are the power houses.

I see him in brown and gold, black and gold, black and white or blue and white.

Basically any colour other than red and blue!

Would cost half our list.

In that case I'd do it even if O'Meara never plays a game for us.

Would cost half our list.

thats the wholesale idea. we give a half a list, & take 2. build from there.

mind you, if we all gave both nuts to the deal; over the next 2 seasons I reckon we'd have enough to fill both our lists, from all over the AFL.

Casey & the Dees, premiers from the next 10 years.

Bump.

Dees not dying wondering behind the scenes. Lot still to take place.

Watch this space.

Any club would kill for O'Meara.

The problem is, will he ever play again with half his knees missing and a reco?

Look every chance we sell the farm for him and he's a double amputee by 30.

Let's offer up Terlich and Bail.

Just seems a little over the odds to me Jumbo.

I'd like next year's first pick to be involved conditionally if that's at all possible.

Ie. if he gets back to full fitness they get next year's first pick plus whatever we offer this year.

If not, we don't get as spectacularly bent over, as we might have been giving them this year's kitchen sink.

If he passes a thorough medical and we buy low based on his knee history, why the hell not ?

If Prestia'd,,, & he passes fitness exam's on his foot, his dicky knee, whatt would we give? & howe, could we possibly get it dunn?

For the likes of O'Meara, Prestia, Hallahan, TNicholls, etc, I'd consider trading players, to help them correct they're culture issues, & instill some maturity into they're club list.

players I'd consider from our list; > Watts, Howe, Dunn, Dawes, Garland, Grimes, Fitzpatrick, Spencer, Jamar, Pederson,

a peek thru the Suns list, shows massive holes above they're 25 yr old age bracket. They virtually have no real maturity.

I love you.

But.

I also hate you.

At least, there aren't any riddles with Chook.

I wonder if we'd put Watts up for trade if the right offer came along. I reckon we would.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
