Post Match Discussion - Round 17

In earlier games such as against Port, even though we lost, we showed that when we get a bit of space we can move the ball well, look good and can score.

Since Geelong, the other clubs have worked us out.

Keep it scrappy, ugly, tight, give us no room to move, and we can't cope. we spray it (by hand and foot), give up widow-maker passes, and score behinds with freedom and inhibition.

Ugly and tight is how we beat Richmond and the Dogs, scoring well in both games.

But we set the tempo in both games, we were harder, stronger, more committed. The last three weeks we've been meek and reactive. That's the difference.

Garbage, just garbage, week in week out, how can full time AFL players not hit targets between 20-35m. That is all you do is train if you can't execute the core skill of the game you are stuffed, we are stuffed

Again a pathetic third quarter. Giving them 6 goals in wet slippery conditions is an abomination.

Personally I am bored of the way we play, there's not run and carry, no excitement. Just bomb it long from down back, bomb it long into the forward 50. I love the MFC but I hate watching us play, where's the attacking coming from? Out worked and out coached, I'll most likely tune out for a few weeks. It's horrible football to watch

So did we start Garland on Riewoldt and leave it for three quarters?

Even on one leg, Garland was never going to be the right match up for Riewoldt. It might have been an attempt to keep the McDonald as a forward experiment going, but if ever there was a game to return TMac to CHB, it was this one.

More bad gameday coaching.

This club has just about killed my love for this club.

You know that's not true Bitter. Deep down you love it even more - like a disadvantaged child. Perhaps membership should be made tax deductable under the registered charity legislation.

Whelmed! Not over, not under. Just whelmed.

this hurts to say but I am glad I turned off and watched a movie with my kids

so sad

Did anyone rate Michie being the sub?

I rated it [censored] useless out of 10.

Hate to say this but Tyson has been a massive bust

Certainly had a poor year. Seems to have now awareness and is slow to move and to get rid of the ball, then often takes the worst option. He was better than that last year.

This... Shocking decision. And for those who couldn't make it to the G, and are wondering what it was like live, the answer is "indescribably bad".

I wonder what the game would have looked like if "skills" Dawes hadn't butchered the ball on three promising forward entries in the first ten minutes of the game, and we were three goals up...

Just dont give a [censored] about footy any more.

Horrible umpiring

Horrible match day experience or whatever you wanna call it with music and BS

Horrible team

Whats to like?

What do you mean 20-35m, we can't handball 3 metres. We are the worst skilled side in the AFL bar none.

With average skills we would have at least 4 more wins this year.

Don't think I've posted all season but felt compelled to - just in total disbelief at how dreadful we were today.

They continue making the exact same mistakes throughout the game, week by week. They don't learn from anything, so there's no consolation in these losses. Surely we broke a record today for number of holding the balls against, so many players just have zero awareness. Constant fumbling and hospital handballs. Tackles not sticking. Just wanted to throw a brick through my TV.

Lumumba and Dawes are straight up [censored], hard to believe they were premiership players, totally shown up in a shite team. Tyson for some unknown reason has gone backwards at a rate of knots this year, no awareness, too casual, regular butcher of the ball. Garland can go, don't see his value as he's a loose defender but doesn't provide rebound like he used to.

Have no idea what goes on in the box but surely some blame has to go to Roos. We regularly let teams get run ons which ultimately determine the game, while seemingly plodding through the game the same way.

Irrelevant in the scheme of things, but the umpiring was a far king joke. Just a horrible spectacle all up and I'm just thankful I didn't go

Lumumba doesn't play like he used to (at C'wood). Now he holds on to the ball for far too long, tries to break tackles, and ends up getting rid of the pill under extreme pressure.

So we have gone backwards then since we played the Saints 7 weeks ago ???!!

We are carrying so many passengers and duds , its unbelievable !

Life is better when I don't engage and watch the games.

Sadly that's been the case for 90% of our supporter base for the better part of 50 years.

The only thing I'll say is he may be carrying an injury - [censored], I hope so.

The umps umpire it the way they are are trained to. It's our dear mate Wayne Campbell who needs to be held to account for the lottery of free kicks paid/not paid/incorrectly paid. Take your pick for every single incident in every match.

Does anyone from the Club monitor this site? Deplorable result. 30 minutes later, we are still at page 2. Even the diehards are giving-up! Like most of the players.
