I'd lose no sleep if Watts and Bail had played their last game.

Watts is plainly too timid for AFL football. All the crying foul and bullying claims in the world won't change that.

I believe watts just dropped himself again, wasn't a verbal request this time.

Needs to retire

Hes a waste of the clubs money, time and resources

Certainly no consistency week to week. It'll take time.

Eventually we'll string together four quarters like our first one today.

I'm gutted again. Was really looking forward to the QB game especially at quarter time. Thought we might actually be in with a chance.

I have a lunch time wedding to attend on QB and I have made my plan to sneak out unnoticed, get out of the finery, into my footy gear and make my escape to the G.

I have just had a change of plans after today's game. The wedding is looking good.

Fitness and motivation just not good enough. It is a four quarter effort to finish off a team as talented as Port.

Come on mate, give it a rest. There were plenty of other players out there not performing today.

well we are playing collingwood. Im still convinced he wouldnt have dropped himself if we were playing Brisbane instead of hawthorn that week.

Funny the 2 teams last week how they have gone. Melbourne get thrashed and the bulldogs come out in the 1st quarter and are 6 goals to 1 against the giants.

Viney cannot start sub next week. Hopefully he will be a bit better for the run. I reckon Newton has to come back.

I believe that if this team, our team had played with the effort and intensity of last week MFC could have won it today. There are too many pea hearts out there. They don't hold each other accountable. If you played like Watts at Hawthorn or Collingwood you'd get some pretty strong words from the leaders.

I would usually back Watts in these situations but I just can't this time.

He is done...

?home ground advantage to doggies?

Diaasppointing result. The ability to run out quarters and therefore games has been a problem for a longtime. Playing in a hot climate emphasises this. We need to think about this at selection. I queried bringinging in two players who have been out of the side for a long time and going as tall as we did. We needed run newton and Michie in hindsight would have been better and despite having a good game last week Fitzpatrick did not have a match up for today

Toumpas plays better then Watts. At least the Toump puts his body on the line sometimes

Never gave a F%#$@ as soon as the umpires exposed their corruption !!!

Yeah I switched it off after they started giving Port free kicks in front of goal.

When you play at country grounds - you get country umps.

I knew we'd drop our heads after the umps intervened and evened it.

I'm just completely and utterly fustrated by this team.. How can we be 4 goals up and playing so well yet lose by 10 goals ? We should have been 6-7 goals up half way through the 2nd quarter. Lynden Dunn was atrocious today, his idiotic torp kick in which went straight back over his head zapped out momentum then gave away that stupid free kick to Schulz minutes later. Really not sure what's wrong with Nathan Jones 11 touches in the opening term then rarely sighted, he needed to stand up when Port were running hot, as did Dunn, Vince, Lumumba, Cross as senior players, we couldn't touch the ball.

Like I said in the match day thread, coaching staff have a lot to answer for the side they picked. Went in too tall and one or two mids short.

I don't get it,don't they want it?

They play like they they don't want to bring the effort every week, or even every quarter .

One big effort every six weeks or so isn't good enough, we are sick and tired of this year after year.

Last week means absolutely nothing if they can't back it up.

All we want is a team that brings consistent effort every week, so we can enjoy going to the footy again.

I fear it won't happen untill we get a year or two out of Petracca and Brayshaw and recruit a decent ready made mid.

Too many B and C graders.

Rohan Bail just played his last ever game for this club.

putrid footballer.

And again ee got beaten in the selection table..

Nah you're wrong. I wish you were right, but unfortunately bail will play again. He just won't go away.

This inconsistency is beyond a damn joke! Fed up with this crap every year, fed up with same culprits unable to play consistent football.

Hey Roosy ....FFS can you do us all a favour and not select Bail again ever....pleeeeeeeeeese

I'm sick of thrashings.....absolutely damn fed up with them year after year. FFS how many years does it take for this pea brain list to gives supporters some hope?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
