He started there last week and re-confirmed his laziness within the first 15 minutes and was moved back quite promptly. Has low work rate, lacks defensive intent, his leading patterns aren't great and when he does get chances has poor conversion. But he does take a lovely mark every now and then. Has been poor, round 1 aside and should be at Casey this week.

Howe is a very poor kick for goal, did you think about that in your equation?

Or did you think about the fact that he has played his best footy in the backline?

Id like to see him peeling off his man to be 2nd up over the top in the back line, in form. That said using him as a swing man now and then would be worth while

If Howe can't jump at the footy, he is next to useless in one-on-one contests. I don't think you could say the same for Cloke.

I agree however he appears disinterested, not sure if it's all the talk of leaving, but I would think if a player wants to leave, he would be doing himself no favours by playing lackluster football. My view is he is a limited footballer, who goes well when all around are going well. He is not a game changer.

He's an absolutely atrocious set shot of goal. Couldn't even tell you the last time he kicked truly from a set shot, it's that rare.

I would agree with this. His kicking certainly improved for a period there (it may even have been 2013), but ultimately he's a footballer with one trick. The high-flyer. (read very limited footballer) If he's not taking hangers, he's doing bugger all else.

Has anyone involved at the club actually commented on wanting Howe to stay? Obviously the public line last year about Frawley was that we would've loved him to stay (highly unlikely once pick 3 came into the equation), but I don't remember Roos saying anything positive about Howe so far this year.

I think Roos would know he's a very limited player, but best not to say anything, otherwise tarnish the potential of a lucrative trade at year's end. To be honest though, I can't see anyone offering up something in the vicinity of pick 7. Still an incredible proposition.

A club with terrible list management would be tricked into paying top dollar for him. After all, he's a well known player in the league's worst team. He's lauded for his marking, but we know his deficiencies (which, sadly, innumerably outweigh the pros).
