Changes For Next Week

Whilst I'm on the fence over whether Jamar should have been dropped when he was, I agree that Spencer's done nothing to warrant holding his spot and I think Jamar should come back in for him.

Not sure about Gawn in for Dawes, mainly because I'm not sure that Gawn offers enough as a key forward and if there's one thing the Dogs want us to it's to go in too tall against them and let them run rings around us.

As for smashing Cordy, he gets smashed in the ruck every week. Today the hit outs were 69-13. Last week it was 48-28 (lost to St Kilda), the week before 75-36 (beat Sydney), and the week before 48-29 (beat Adelaide). I'm confident that if we go in with Spencer he'll get a massive amount of hit outs, but clearly that's not enough to stop the Dogs midfielders from exerting influence in the game.

And that would because they tackle and run and our guys dont right?

From Saturday night. Jetta is unlikely this week has a week to go under doctors orders. Brayshaw got a corkie and was hobbling around probably needs a rest but unlikely to get one.

In: a bottle of tequila

Out: care factor for season 2015

You forgot: Lemon, Salt

Probably explains why he got 69% game time.

I think Stretch needs to go back to Casey. Didn't really sat well with me when he was picked against the swans just thought he wasn't physically ready, and it showed on the weekend.. I am glad though he has gotten a taste of senior footy and none better then the top 3 sides of the comp. Back to Casey and let him develop and dominate some games.

Bring Watts in and stick him on a wing and tell him to run up and down and get the ball into his hands as much as possible. I really thought he showed real class with the ball when he came on against the swans the other week.

After listening to barret and lyon talk about the bulldogs and their happyness not to play a ruckman in the ruck, i think we need to think of who has the most skill in the ruck to advantage our midfield.. so its either GAWN or JAmar in for Spencer. I am yet to see a hit out to advantage from spencer, i think hes great for a body to throw around, but that's about it.

if rumors are true viney isnt playing, jetta could miss another, brayshaw has a corkie.. we are looking poor still.

I wouldn't take a lot of notice or what either of these 2 say about footy.

I wouldn't be surprised if both Riley and Harmes come in this week. I'd like to see Max King get a run with Casey seniors - he needs to be well dug in there by the end of the season.

I think Spencer may get the axe this week. Roosy wasn't very happy with him at 1/4 time and said on radio yesterday that Spencer didnt really follow on what he was meant to do.

I simply cannot believe that some people here are bagging Roos.

I still can't believe that we were fortunate enough to land him as our senior coach.

He is the sole reason we've actually been able to attract the decent senior players and coaches in the time he's been here.

After Saturday's pi ss weak performance no one can be sacrosanct Ron!

INS: Riley Jamar/Gawn Watts

OUTS: Brayshaw Stretch Spencer

Brayshaw needs a rest and Stretch is still a fair way off. Riley to give us the inside grunt and Watts for his class around the ball. I think we need to move him up to a wing.

After the Spencer spray i don't think he will keep his spot so i think get Jamar back in for the experience and first use of the ball or go with Gawn as the number 1 ruck to see if he is up to the challenge. We need to find soon enough.

Isn't Harmes still on the rookie list and at this point in time can only be elevated in place of a long term injury?

I think Toumpas is already on the dump list so he could easily come down with a LTI.

What is lost from starting his departure now?

IN- Watts, Gawn, Riley, Jetta (?), Kennedy-Harris, Newton, Hogan

OUT- Stretch, Dawes, Spencer, M.Jones, Toumpas, Salem (if inj), Michie

Howe and Grimes stay in pretty much because of a lack of depth.

See if Riley can win some clearances.

JKH and Newton for some flank play

Think Bail did more than M.Jones so he stays.

Not fussed if it's Jamar instead of Gawn but I'd like to see Gawn have a "turn"

Don't think Brayshaw needs to be rested as it's an 8-day break,

Sheeeit I can't believe "Dazzle Man" That we are on the same page!! Agree with all ins!

Think you might add Hogan to the ins 'dazzle'...

I would put Dawes out.

Holy moly how did i forget him! Yep Dawes out for Hoges..

In - Hogan, Riley, Gawn, JKH, Newton, Watts

Out - Salem (Inj), Dawes, Spencer, Stretch, Bail, M.Jones

B - Grimes - Dunn - Garland

HB - Howe - T Mac - Lumumba

C - Vince - Tyson - Watts

HF - JKH - Pedersen - Brayshaw

F - Garlett - Hogan - Newton

R - Gawn - N Jones - Cross

I.C - Michie - Vandenberg - Toumpas

Sub - Riley

Hesitant to bring Wats back in already but he usually plays well vs the Dogs and we need all the firepower we can get and anything that will help us win. Newton back, he need to win more of the footy, but at last he can kick a goal (averaging 1 per game, and has kicked third most goals for the MFC)

Toump played very well vs the Dogs in preseason. While that doesn't guarantee anything lets give him another go, not fair on him to come back in vs Freo and Hawks when our senior players gave him zero support. The same could be said of Stretch but hes not ready yet anyway, just too raw.

Pig Dog has earned a shot. JKH is too creative and skilled to leave out, bring him in if hes not injured.

Max Gawn to come in and play the number 1 rick role resting forward. He needs to take the next step. Pedo to be used as ruck relief.

Dawes out goes without saying, as do the rest of the outs. Salem will be a tough loss.

Thought someone said Viney is a couple of weeks away, was mentioned at the Foundation Heroes dinner?

Dunno if its confirmed though

The Doggies board are listing Stringer and Honeycutt being probably out injured.

Ins would probably be from this trio (Casey stats):

Jordie McKenzie 1 goal 34 disposals 14 kicks 20 handballs 8 marks 8 tackles 148 Dream Team Points

Alex Neal-Bullen 24 disposals 13 kicks 11 handballs 7 marks 2 tackles 90 Dream Team Points
Aidan Riley 28 disposals 9 kicks 19 handballs 5 marks 11 tackles 122 Dream Team Points

Well, Roos changed 4 players after the Freo game and then changed another 4 players after the Sydney game

Grimes, McKenzie, Jamar & Michie all went after the Freo loss and then the following week ... Hogan, JKH, Newton & Watts all went. If he does it again that will make 12 changes over a 3 game stretch.

Is there a method behind all this? .. previously (especially last year) we've never seen him make this many changes. Could it be that he was aiming to get the team set up for after that horror stretch of games?

Players who could or will come back in ... Watts, Hogan, Jamar, Riley, JKH, Newton. Jetta (?) and Viney(?) ... there's quite a number who may make way but I'm not sure he'll make more than 4 changes.

Salem is a definite out because of injury (we'll really miss him) whilst Stretch will almost certainly be another out. After that, there's quite a number that might go but again, I reckon we'll only see 4 changes (maybe 5 at a stretch)

I think Michie deserves at least another couple of games to prove himself. My Docker supporting friends over here in the West have high opinions of his ability.

Wouldn't be against it, just he may be on a short leash given he was dropped in R6 after two alright games, just can imagine Riley'd fill his role should Roos swing the axe again

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
