His reference to anti-ageing clinics brings the whole EFC saga back into focus. Maybe the players were getting their micro-dope fix there!

The performance improvement for an athlete is significant: "The micro-doping in the VO2 max [fitness] test, on average, improved the athlete's results by a massive 6.1 per cent. In the 3000-metre run, there was an average improvement of 2.8 per cent."

It must be tempting for footballers (and other athletes) if they can't be found out.

EFC aside, before long we will be assuming that no sportsperson is clean.

I have already made that assumption in a few sports LH in fact I made it some years ago.

I rarely watch the Olympics and Cycling.

And while I know the majority of AFL footballers are clean it is obvious that there are substantial numbers who are not.

Only my love of the MFC keeps me involved in AFL at the top level.

I now assume all sports people may be involved. I just pray most are not.

Olympics are actually one of the cleanest arenas for sport. The number caught out of the thousands competing is very small, especially when you take into account that every medallist at every event is tested immediately after the event, and there are many random tests outside of that as well.

That is an entirely different argument to the first one you made, and I agree, the IOC is nearly as bad as FIFA/F1, with the AFL not far behind in my book.
