McDonald should be moved to CHF, like Neatz, All Australian CHB, was the making of him, McDonald CHF, Hogan FF, doubt if Roos has the flair to see beyond Cross and Lamumba, he has a let's not lose it attitude on the game instead of a let's win it, I won't miss Paul Roos.

Tmac reminds me of Jeremy Cameron.

Neitx was a much better CHB than a FF

Moving TMac would be a disaster

Good offence starts with a good defence. It's then the midfield that helps to win the game

You don't need a particularly strong forward line to win a Premiership. Hogan, Garlett, Dawes and Watts is easily good enough. Just fix the midfield. Bluey you are a [censored] moron

Completely agree. I think he has a negative influence on our development. Always leads wide, fails to make an impact for 80% of the game. Sucks the life out of the team. Only pops up when the rest of the team are playing well. Seemed like Neeld gave him a free ride into the team because of his Collingwood association and now he's on good terms with Roos because he's a good trainer or whatever

So it's a Tuesday afternoon troll, is it?

I found nothing in that was considered 'trolling'

Cannot understand why most people won't accept the truth that Dawes is just a very very ordinary player. We paid him big money to kick goals and provide leadership. The first one he is not even that good at and 2nd i still question his so call leadership.. rarely does he stand up in the big games when we need him most.

He has the worst hands i have ever seen as a key forward, he leads far too wide and when he does have the ball he just turns it over.

Collingwood did the right thing getting rid of him for Jesse White.

Its fun reading how some players are marked and how the criticism gets justified but others float by.

Toumpas first game back in for a grand total of 20th with probably third as the sub has 7 kicks 7 handballs at 71%.

Newton has 7 kicks and 7 handballs at 71% including two shocking errors early in the game.

Spencer after half time was clearly the better ruckman and had the second most tackles and second most clearances in his first game back. Pike who some claim is a second rate ruckman was second for contested grabs in the league last year, achieved the tap out record in one game last week and has only been beaten by Sandilands all year. Jamar showed at VFL he is done and Gawn did some good things but does not work half as hard as Spencer.

Watts comes on and was clean and serviceable. Howe floats by in another lazy, disinterested soft game.

My main disappointment was we seemed so focussed on halving the stoppages with them last night that no held position and no had interest to spread when we had the ball.

Tyson needs to face criticism for his inability to spread or if he is that injured try and get right whatever is wrong. JKH's workrate is appalling and he needs to have a long stint at Casey. Hopefully Viney back so Vince can be let off the leash as we are now missing his attacking creativity whilst he is more focussed on the tag.

This has not happened before - I tend to agree with every single thing above.

Rivers was a rising star, Frawley was an All Australian, Grimes was a highly skilled young Captain of the club, Howe was moved back and looks completely shot, nobody can mentally stand under the torrent of ball that is unleashed to our Backline, stacking up one loss after another, the writing is on the wall for McDonald, too good a player, hopefully it's not a matter of move forward or move club.

Damning evidence indeed.....good points raised.

I hope our midfield can develop quickly so they remain competitive for the entire game. This will relieve some pressure...

Its true 3.. ask any Collingwood supporter or player and they will tell you they do not miss him one bit.

I agree white isn't that good at all but id take his form over Dawes.

Atleast he can mark the footy FFS

And then watch the opposition rebound after another Dawes spilt mark..

Look he is a good honest battler and thats it. I still reckon we recruit a big key forward in the draft. Josh Schache should be in our sights.

Many people are blaming our midfield without being too specific. I'm just looking at some stats. Jones, Vince and Tyson are our Top 3 in clangers. They were 3 of our top 4 last year, so not sure if that's a huge revelation. Newton leads inside 50s this season with 21, Tyson and Vince only have 12 and 11 respectively. (Vince lead us last year with 3.7 PG).

Vince and Tyson had 51 possessions between them for only 2 i50s V Sydney.

Hogan has taken 13 marks i50, compared to Dawes' 2.

Meanwhile, Jones is down to 3.3 clearances a game after averaging 6.3 last year.

Our team is ranked last in both disposal efficiency and disposal average while we were ranked 4th in the AFL in D.E last year

'I disagree with you' would suffice, but whatever. I don't accept the results so I give my take on what's going wrong.

Apologies. I did actually think you were legitimately trolling. :D Let's say I disagree and retract my troll comment with an apology attached.

Disposal efficiency is one of the most misleading stats in the game. We chipped the ball around at half back all year in '14. That made our DE look a lot healthier. Now that we're taking a few more risks, our DE is dropping.

Thanks for the clangers stats though. That is enlightening. I hope Jones, Tyson and Vince can turn it around. I suspect Tyson is carrying an injury though, which continues to hinder him.

And Collingwood are going to say that they miss him? Far too arrogant to admit fault. Dawes should be playing out of the square, IMO.

Yeah they could pass as brothers couldn't they.

Like Arnie and Danny deVito.

No, I mean the way they run and turn the surprising hardness when bumped. They both go straight at the ball and are very hard to knock off line. Cameron is a far more natural kick.

Edit: I likened T Mac with Jeremy Cameron

Pretty sure Jones is carrying an injury , his shoulder is giving him trouble. A mere mortal would have missed 4 to 6

True, and we've played a couple of wet weather games. Still, tons of unacceptable turnovers in the dry V Sydney. Well, it's gonna stay tough if Jones and Tyson don't get 100%. To me that says Bernie needs to lift or we need Lumumba in the middle more just to be able to break away from stoppages

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
