GAME DAY - Meet the Fockers

Good morning all - it's fine and partly cloudy out there and heading for a top of 19.

We're playing the top team and they're in form so it presents a major challenge for the team facing a tough month ahead.

I know it's most likely a pipe dream but if we win ... and win by enough, we could even jump into the top eight. Perhaps we can catch them by surprise like the Saints did late last year ... much will depend upon the Russian in the ruck against the big bloke and Bernie Vince against Nathan Fyfe.

Let's hope that Bernie's been inspired by his encounter with the flatulent Old Man Crawf or Jesse with the Hulk. We need something inspirational to happen today.

Cant remember the last time we went into a game vs a legitimate Flag favourite and the supporters weren't filled with despair before ball had been bounced

I feel confident that the wheel is slowly turning and this group of players will have a crack against anyone

The Doggies beat the Swans on the SCG yesterday, and its a great reminder that anything is possible in footy

With Dawes out and Pedo in, I'm not liking our chances.
That being said, I think stranger things have happened.

no chance today, but im going along hoping to be ultra competitive and keep the margin to 5-6 goals.

Think I would've Gawn in the side rather than Pederson, and not sure what Mckenzie is going to offer us today

Yeah I think McKenzie was a strange in and agree I can't see what he will offer. I'm guessing Vince will go to Fyfe, there's no way McKenzie could tag him.

we can win

Feeling very confident of putting up a good fight, and in doing so we have every chance of a win. For the first time in a long while this fixture doesn't scare the crap out of me. Looking forward to it in fact

80 to 40 pt easy win for the dockers coming up.

Hope I'm wrong

Negative Nancys! We will win by 28pts. Hogan to kick 6 and Bernie to lock down Fluff.

And kick a couple himself.

Give those cocky bastards hell!

(I work in Fremantle, would love nothing more than to wear my Demons scarf into work tomorrow).

Its just an anything could hapoen day. Laws of probability suggest we not get overly excited but if the lads are for it and get themselves up and running & running & running ) we might give a very good contest.

Who was it who said....if it bleeds you can kill it ? Theyre just a team playing well.so might we.

Go Dees...Fock 'em

I think it was batman who said it to superman in the Batman v Superman trailer...

It's our home ground, let's play on our terms and own this game.

I Think we are better chance with Pederson in & Dawes out. We Need someone that can help Jamar in the Ruck at times and that isn't Dawes. Pederson is very Versatile he play Ruck, Forward or Defense. Dawes as not had a great start to the year.

This is a simple situation for me. I don't expect us to win, 99% of the competition doesn't expect us to win, 95% of the competition probably doesn't expect us to get within 5 goals.

Play with freedom, play with hardness, and play with desperation. Win or lose the fans will be proud.

Today is the day.

Backline finally working together.Mids learning to shut down consistently

.Forwards have a gogetter{garlett}and a "give it to me"{hoges}

All aboard for the ride i hope.

Doggies were beaten 75-37 in hit outs and beat the swans.

We need something similar because I don't think rush and pedo will beat Sandilands and Clarke

care to share ......whatever you're on ? :)

I hope the boys go into the game with the belief that they can win this one, without it they can't.

5 goals today Jess ....give it to em.

I wonder who will be sub. I hope it's Mckenzie.

Jordie doesnt add much as a sub reckon he is in to provide a hard tag .wil see

That's the second week in a row the Dogs have been smashed in the ruck but won the game. Last week it was Jacobs, this week Pyke.

Despite what Mumford did to us in Round 2, it is entirely possible to break even through the middle and win games of football even if you're being beaten in the ruck. Our mids need to work as hard as the Dogs' mids did.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
