Development League Bye

Got to love it when MFC and Casey both play on Sunday - 13 man interchange. And obviously at least two of those players won't play due to being selected in the MFC side.

Hope Neal-Bullen gets a run. It would be a shame (for me, because I'm impatient) if his momentum got broken purely because the development league has a bye.

Reckon that at least three wont play. Casey play at noon and Melbourne just after 1pm. Reckon one of the emergencies will stay at the G at least until the bounce in case of an injury in the warm up. Has happened before.

It would be even better as a curtain raiser.....

Roh Bail named for Casey, so concussion presumably not the reason he didn't get a senior call-up.

Strange that Grimes is named in Casey side as well as Melbourne starting 18.

Also interesting the Fitz is named in the forward line - I know named sides mean little but perhaps a signal of a change (perhaps to replace Pedersen/Spencer as forward ruck and giving O.McDonald a role down back).

Disappointing the Dev Tean don't play. Really sucks that Max King and Mitch White are fit but can't play a game of footy.

Most disappointing thing for me is that we will run out to play Essendon, as though they are sportsmen like us, competing at the same thing as us. What a sham! Everyone seems complicit in the denial, even us. I just can't get onto that page.

"Get over it"? That's Essendon's line.

Totally agree Robbie

And are we certain that they are sill not using some alternative performance enhancing substances but just making sure their internal records are not maintained.

So many situations that have not been adressed or at least advised.

Hoping fitzy continues his development down back , a replacement when required for our most important player imo Tmac , who else is there?

Posted

some notable delistings here:

Bail, Spencer, Fitzpatrick, Pedersen, Terlich

please, can't we have that conversation at the end of the season?

With Cam Pedersen out in place of the injured Chris Dawes at Melbourne it looks like Billy Stretch is the emergency going to the G, the Scorps look considerably weakened compared to last week's losing line up.

James Harmes looking good with 2 early goals. Casey lead by a point.

It's quarter time and Casey was strong late in the term to edge away to a 13 point lead.

Can someone tell me more about James Harmes?

Is he a prospect to get a game this year or is he a long-term project? Inside mid? Outside mid?

The Bombers worked hard with the aid of the breeze to get back to within 5 points at the main break.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers braved the rain and headed down to Gosch's paddock to bring you their observations from the second day of Preseason training for the 1st to 4th Year players. DITCHA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I attended some of the training today. Richo spoke to me and said not to believe what is in the media, as we will good this year. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025.
