TISM for me.

They aren't going to get a guernsey for Eurovision sadly as the softc**k Aussie recording industry would like someone vanilla like Guy Sebastian.

There are plenty of AFL references in their music as well. They could even hire the man mentioned in the following song to play triangle on 'I rooted a girl who rooted a guy who rooted a girl who rooted a guy who rooted a girl who rooted Shane Crawford'.

Where songs like The Holy Grail get construed into football songs,TISM actually sang about football. Edited by Emerald

Machine Gun Fellatio

Saw them live many moons ago. The support were a band from Adelaide called "Pornland", which was everything the name suggests.

My mate's and I have this discussion every year. Consensus usually is for an Aussie band, but it has to be someone who will get people a little excited and has a good stack of hits, not just the flavour of the week (remember the Temper Trap, bloke just stood there, had the whole runway and boringly didn't move).

My vote who ticks all the boxes is The Living End. Almost everyone knows them, they have lots of hits and they have energy and put on a show. Dunno how many other Aussie bands (apart from Acca Dacca) would tick all the boxes

I'm not sure the Living End have remained as popular as you would want now a fair way from their prime. But I think you're right in terms of the idea and also right on how difficult it is to find suitable entertainment for a widespread audience who have the capabilities to capture an entire stadium.

It was at night, but KISS put on a decent show if this youtube video is anything to go by

Bring back the hairy bastard on horseback who sang (and I use that term loosely) Waltzing Matilda at the 1988 GF. Worst half time entertainment ever. And yes, worse than you Angry Anderson

The public hanging of Damian Barrett would be the best half-time entertainment.

People would die in the crush to be the one wearing the black hood.

I think I have already two songs that they could include in their Grand Final set list.

"I might barrack for Port Power..."

But never for the Crows.

One live action reenactment of that film clip=ratings!

you gone off the wet t-shirt competition idea, da?

I thought it's a given that that would be part of their act.

I actually thought it was going to be a lot worse than what it actually turned out

Gene has lost a bit of his range but they can still do it

Unlike Meathead who had totally lost any idea at all!!

Fear not SWYL.

KISS may be old but they are entertainers and will rock the 'G' come GF day.

They seem loud enough screaming at me during breaks.

If they insist on having musical acts why not focus on contemporary Aussie bands - I'm not a fan of Jet but I much preferred them a couple of years back than any of these overseas pensioners they drag in.

So we wouldn't need to wait for the wardrobe malfunction?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
