If Dill has any balls he will request a re jig of the fixture next week

It's not as if Essendrugs situation is going to change

Sir WYL just asking when did you get your overdue, and much deserved "gong"? People like yourself will no doubt help lift the tone of debate here on Demonland

Welcome to the Aristocrosy Sir WYL. Make the most of it as I believe Tony may be in a spot of bother! I fear we may be facing the rule of the mob come next week.

Well, according to Tony's good mate Kevin Andrews, the best thing for this country is a pairing of Abbott and Gillard :)

The AFL should advise Essendon boycotting the NAB Challenge will result in a "bringing the game into disrepute" charge with fines and sanctions (draft picks).

If Essendon are out of the picture it's simple, we play Saints and GWS figure something out.

I would rather we play a team on the up (GWS) than the Saints.

Were already going to WA don't wanna have two interstate games.

Who has said we would have to? If we did though it wouldn't concern me too much as traveling and performing is one of the things we need to get better at - after all, teams like Freo, Eagles, Crows etc do it on a regular basis and manage ok.

Maybe 2 games is enough for us. There has been a push to reduce the preseason games and this might end up working in our favour.

Funny rjay I was think the same thing.

For God's sack they are practise matches.

But we do so well in the preseason OD

Given that we're not a particularly good footy team, I would've thought we'd need all the 'practise' we can get?

We also don't need our best players injured before the season starts. Anyway, just saying that maybe 2 full scale games is enough and many have talked about lessening the load.

It could well be to our advantage to have a couple of games then a hit up against a lesser opponent to fine tune.

I say that we get on the front foot.

Boycott it on account of not wanting to play against drug cheats.

Would make for an interesting stance, and statement. Might put the cat amongst the kittens....I like it :) Edited by beelzebub

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
