Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I would trust Bill Clinton with my unborn daughter more than I'd trust your sources.

Whoever at the club is suggesting an undeveloped 18 year old rookie is about to overtake a 20 year old pick 4 midfielder after one week of training rivals you for the most stupid opinion ever.

Don't buy it, but happy for the two of them and others to fight it out for a spot. Be a bonus if they both turned it on.

Unlike young white who has been at training for a week...

You're happy to afford white time to develop because he's a role model but not Jimmy who you wrote off from the word go.

Let's hope they both become good players.

Your sources are nothing but rubbish Picket, they were telling us Frawley had signed with the dockers and Mark Thompson was set to be announced as GC coach. You were telling us all year your love crush Juice Newton was a certain to be drafted? What happened there? Your sources flopped as usual.

Time to find some new friends.

Funny how you already rate White ahead of Toump who is one week into his training and yet to kick an AFL football.

Your joke.

Amazing !!

Ok Forget all I said!

The Kid will probably be a Flop, whilst Toumpas will be the new Messiah!!

Why do you need to take the gloves off? Talk your sources and opinion no need for the anger.

No anger, just becoming tired of some posters using every opportunity to pump up the tyres of Jimmy Toumpas, therefore totally sabotaging a thread about a new Draftee!

Ok I'll play and say again if people want to project the virtues of a player who has been on our list for two seasons and done sweet fanny adams, they then can put up with my own interpretation of continuing to doubt, No make that have severe doubt that the player mentioned is better than a Rank Rookie pick as selected.

There you go! Take it or leave it!

So back to Mitchell White and from his highlights package I have ascertained the following, forget my sources, this is my own appraisal!

  • Has a Rapier left foot
  • Has a low centre of gravity in core which means he won't be easily brushed aside
  • Can kick a goal and on his non preferred foot
  • Reads the play very well
  • Plays taller than his height suggests and takes well judged marks
  • Not frightened wins his own ball and finds space through traffic
  • Seems to have that sixth sense about player movement around him, therefore buying time for excellent disposal
  • That will do for now and I further predict that when Trengove is placed on the LTI list for this season this bloke will become a senior player.

So in summation, if posters want to dish it up mess up a thread with frivolous comprimises concerning other players then expect me to return fire!

No anger just business!

Well done Mitchell White I hope you become a household name among the MFC Faithful!

Umm, I'm entirely neutral on the question of Jimmy Toumpas, being happy to wait for him to be whatever he will be. The way I read it though, and I suspect plenty of others do, is that you take every opportunity (to the point of complete tedium) to stick whatever nails you can find into his tyres. Trying to use Mitchell White as another pointed object is, quite frankly, as offensive to the kid as it is to Jimmy T.

As BBO suggests, sober up ... metaphorically if not literally.

The fact Jimmy has been on the list for two years is irrelevant picket, my point is you wrote him off right away but make the point white should be afforded time because he is "a role model" why is one worthy of time but not the other

Jimmy came to the club in a similar situation, loads of talent but would take time because of his injury.

And don't say you're frustrated by people "pumping up jimmys tires" when you do the same thing for young Mr wines who doesn't even play for our club.

What a load of self serving tripe

Do you wear glasses that somehow prevent you from reading your own posts ?

Thread derailment occusrs when you take whatever opportunity you can to stick the knife into Toumpas. People don't get on here & defend him if he's not being attacked

Your jibes at him are childish and mean-spirited

Of course you won't realise this as your head is so far up your own arse you can count your teeth !

Grow up !

Back on topic - I was disappointed we couldn't lure Malceski from the Swans. However if we could develop our own in young White, what a bonus that would be. He seems to know when to attack the ball & when to defend his man. And that is a beautiful left peg he's got. Does anyone know if he has a right foot as well as plenty of lefties seem not to bother with the opposite side.

He looks good but there must be a reason he fell through to the rookie draft.

We have a bunch of rookies and late picks we are hoping will step up to the next level, reality is most won't make it.

So instead of having a go at me then vent your frustration at those who first mentioned Jimmy Toumpas in this thread. Toumpas was not mentioned at all by me in this thread until those who obviously have hidden agendas decided to ingratiate him into this conversation!

So whilst I merely added weight to the Mitchell White thread others decided to put Jimmy Toumpas into the equation! Probably to wind me up!

Yeah well wind away and I will stay true to my convictions.

Don't like it don't read it! Oh and one other thing, I couldn't give a stuff If posters start a thorough and detailed appraisal of the validity, or otherwise of whether I am "Improving" in quality of posts or not, Likewise whether the mail I get comes to fruition or not.

I post what I hear at my discretion and after all, whether wrong or right, does anyone really know THE FACTS until things play out?

Nar.Not unless Paul Roos himself, Chris Connolly, Peter Jackson, any of the players, Mr Magoo, or Crocodile Dundee posts under an avatar of secrecy!

So BACK TO THE THREAD!

Mitchell White will hopefully become a very good player for MFC

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
