MFC MEMBERSHIP - SEASON 2015

Just for the record, I did go in today and sign up.
I have downsized a bit as I am in the midst of a career change and I have no idea if I will be in Australia by the end of the year (or even beyond April) so it's a 3 game membership for the time being.
However, I remember life before 2007 and the MFC has been a source of joy in my life at times. I paid nothing for that enjoyment. Giving something back at the end of the day seemed obligatory.

Hi all,

Quick question, does anyone know if you lose your 'consecutive years' status if you downgrade to a 3 game membership?

Thanks! And go Dees :)

My partner kept her "consecutive years" status when she recently changed from 11 to 3 game membership.

Also made the leap from Bronze to Silver.

Proud to have converted her to a Melbourne supporter even though she can't go with me as often as she used to.

Can't remeber us doing that H in a very very very long time.

Should draw in 5000 members one would think, If the likes of some new faces have good games early, Lumumba, Garlett, Hogan, it is very possible, whether or not it happens in 2015 is the question all melbourne supporters are waiting to be answered.

I know of two fence sitters who based on last years win/loss ratio are waiting until probably round 3 or however long it takes us to see what sort of football will be dished out this year. And I don't blame them for taking this approach.

I would not be in the least bit surprised to see a small spike in our memberships over the next week or so, following all of the press that Hogan and Garlett's efforts in the Intra Club match got.

Great! Glad to hear it. Sadly I may not be able to make as many games this year so the 3 game is looking like a better option.

Don't blame them either but u know what the say " when u sit on the fence u get splinters".

We can't afford to have fence sitters but understand.

Just renewed my 16 month old - supposedly Carlton supporting - nephew.

My argument is, until he can consciously refuse, he is ours.

Nice work. I keep reminding my wife who is a Blues supporter of our win against them last year.

I keep telling her that if the kids mention Blues I'll buy them more Dees merchandise to continue brainwashing them. So far so good, but I might be in trouble when they can decide for themselves.

It seems to take about 10 years, my Richmond supporting 1st son (the throwback) was wearing MFC gear until then, sadly he is lost. 2nd son is supporter when in the country. I think singing "its a grand old flag" every morning to wake them up may have driven him away.

Keep up the good work.

That sux, you'll have to keep reminding your tiger supporting son about their loss :)

Hopefully the team continues on the up and up, will make my job a hell of a lot easier!

Added my name today. It's pretty much a donation as I live in NSW and work rotating shifts, so watching games on the TV is hard enough, let alone getting to them. Still I feel better for doing it and quite enjoyed putting Jordie Mac as my favourite player in the survey. Heh. Bite me, Jordie haters!

Having moved up to Sydney late last year, I haven't yet experienced being away for the footy season. I'm already getting stressed out about not being able to be at the 'G.

My advice is get Foxtel and get used to watching it on TV. Also tune into sen on your phone/computer that way u can keep up to date with what's happenng.

Sydney/Brisbane is all about league and Union which is very frustrating and a waste of time.

Thankfully I'm not too far from a couple of AFL pubs - and I'll have to investigate the NSW Demons as well, as I wouldn't mind having a few fellow Dees around for comfort.

No Melbourne games in Sydney this year either, so I'm holding out for the Rnd 2 Canberra trip.

The Sydney/NSW Demons get together on game day every week at the Camelia Grove Hotel in Erskinville to watch on the big screen (assuming they haven't changed venues for this season). I've only been the once, but it was an enjoyable time and they're a great bunch. It's a nice pub too... used to play there in a rockabilly band a couple of decades or so ago.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
