I posted this in another thread being thoughts passed on from an astute Cats supporter mate:

....... Won Liston Medal so can play.......

Can't be that astute if he rates the Liston!

And from the descriptions of the players if accurate they're hardly the types MFC are looking for.

And I would not use Evans as a benchmark either for acceptance.

I'd take either of Burbury or Schroder, but I don't really wanna load up on Geelong rejects...

You're probably right but God it's a sad indictment of our club that if those 5 were on our list this year, three probably wouldve got 2 year extensions and a 4th wouldve played 10 games comfortably. It does show what a poor list Paul inherited. I wouldn't mind either one of the two you suggested, I think Schroder has a lot of potential but CScott was never a fan.

We got Bizzell for Grgic.

Ha HA.

We got a pick in the 50s for Grgic (Brad Miller if I recall). The deal for Bizzell was complicated and separate.

And the pick we gave up, which was 17, ended up being James Kelly.

Edit - Pick was 17 not 19.

You recall it how you will after googling.

We got Bizz for Grgic and The bull for not much.

Fools!

So you'd probably just speculate then, if you had the choice, or not.

No, we didn't.

We traded picks 17 and 41 for Bizzell, and we got pick 55 for Grgic.

No, we didn't.

We traded picks 17 and 41 for Bizzell, and we got pick 55 for Grgic.

so the end result was the same.

Not really, but whatever floats your boat.

doesn't take much.

but Biz beat the Grigmeister.

You could say it's the same - and it might pass. Melbourne are probably the only club that would trade picks 17 and 41 for pick 55.

Only one would be Burbury for me.

Clearly I know something you don't, Pagliacci.

Time will tell.

It's all about opportunity cost.

If we have a spot on our list and the choice is between Schroeder & Clisby, I'd give Schroeder a chance.

But I don't know who else will be there to choose from.

And I'd rather not load up on Geelong rejects...

...

That's rather a redundant option given Clisby is already gone.

No sh*t Sherlock.

It was an example.

I don't know what spuds will be left lying around after delistings, trade week & FA movement.

Do you?

Schroder must have really fallen away. I can recall early this season some cats fans saying he was going to be a player for them after a stellar 2013 in the VFL. Schroder only had 4 years in the system, and at Geelong odds are you are not going to walk into that side. Might still have something to offer at AFL level, but I haven't seen enough of him to say that he is a must draft player for us.

I would be looking to cherry pick the players who are in and out of Hawthorn and Sydney's best 22.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
