Awesome. Go Redlegs.

If only it was in Victoria.

Whorethorn ruin another GF...it is so dull.

As an MCC member it is abhorrent that my stadium is covered in brown and gold so often.

The colours associated with sewerage and waste management.

Google 1984 SANFL Grand Final.

Norwood finished 5th, just fell into finals.

Port finished top and unbackable favorites.

Stoushes, hard running footy, exciting finish, Dwayne Russell reported, it had it all.

Just one of the memories of the rivalry that I have. My parents were rabid Port supporters, I adopted red and blue at an early age in reaction.

Final score: Norwood 12.10.82 to Port Adelaide 11.12.78

Two in a row to the Redlegs.

I never thought the day would come when Juice Newton would play in a premiership team wearing the red and blue.

And "Juice" was a contributor with 2 important goals ....

Well done

Go Norwood!

A big weekend for Norwoods with the local version taking out the EFL Grand Final - their maiden first division title.

Former Demon Leigh Williams was BoG with 6 goals. Matty Bate solid down back & Jordan Gysberts kicked the first goal of the game.

They will be hard to beat again next year, particularly if former Norwood junior Sam Blease fails to find a suitor at AFL level

So the next level down of standard is it?? Sheeit Matty Bate has fallen greatly!!

Yes, hate the brown and gold with a passion. The colours remind me of too many big nights!

Lynden Dunn & Max Gawn were at the SANFL GF near the Norwood cheer squad and they were holding up a banner which read "The Juice is on the loose!". I tried to post a photo of them on Demonland but my IT skills failed me.

Go Norwood!

One of the sweetest of victories! Norwood in total command in the first quarter 5.1 v 1.3 at quarter time. Then the AFL skills & fitness of the Port Magpies took over in Q2 & Q3. But the "part-timers" in the Norwood side steadied in Q4 slowing the game & playing very professionally. After three consecutive appalling umpiring decisions to Port, the siren sounded with a torpedo entering the Port attacking 50 m arc. Port beaten in two finals within 24 hours by a total of seven points. Does life get any better than this?

Nathan Bassett joined the victorious side giving Ben Warren (the new coach) an almighty hug after the game. What is he doing in town? On holidays to see his old team? Adelaide FC could do a lot worse if they want a coach with "people skills" to instill culture & structure. Norwood's 3-peat has a lot to do with Nathan Bassett. He really needs another year at least in the AFL system though.

Sadly Juice was as infuriating as usual. One of his goals was a "gimme" handball over the top in the goal square. A couple of good lead-out plays at half-forward were interspersed with dropped chest marks & loose marking of his man after Norwood turnovers. A few misguided souls 700 km away reading stat sheets have suggested an AFL return for Juice. This GF proved that he is not AFL standard. The question is whether he is SANFL standard.

Wasn't the Toump an important contributor a couple of years ago in the Grand Final?

Picket, I think your juice is on the loose!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
