Potential Trades [Warning: Reading this thread may self-destruct]

Don't stress too much people. the dess were in on a number of deals (or should I say "trying to make deals happen"), but the lay of the land means nothing much has happened EXCEPT

1. There is still tomorrow

2. We have an excellent crumber now in our froward line

3. we have an excellent attacking PREMIERSHIP player in our backline

4. We WILL get Sam Frost, part of the future backline

5. AND we still have picks 2, 3 & 23 (my favorite numbers those)

So as Monty Python used to say...."Always look on the bright side of life* * * * * * * *" (didn't know what I could put in for the little whistle).

Sorry....The Dees!

...or shyt happens and the trades they wanted just couldn't get done. It doesn't mean they didn't do their jobs properly.

Flogging a dead horse Nasher.

(commendable effort though ....)

What happened was Jack Schitt went out for a beer with Noe Schitt and ended up with Mr Schitt Hall

The only mistake Roos made was claiming he didn't want to bring in more young kids. He should have just said we'll be looking at deals and being active in the trade market... and left it there. There is not much he can do when the deals aren't out there to be done. If we chase the big fish but can't actually hook him on the line because clubs don't want to hear about it then so be it.

Outside of Griffen there hasn't been another player out there who has made a switch that I would be interested in having at the club. Greenwood has a dip but his disposal is average and we have enough of that. The rest are all meh and types we don't really require.

So if we need to top up again at the draft and look to free agency next year then so be it. I've got faith that Roos can help to improve our players further and we will see some genuinely better performances across the board from many within the club. Onwards and upwards.

For an ignoramus such as myself what does meh mean?

A saints fan said to me today that they will be taking Petracca and he heard we will take Brayshaw and Lever

Am happy with that

Here's a wild one, but why not 23 for Toby Greene? Surely GWS don't want him around the joint after his indiscretion earlier in the year?

Greenwood wins the ball out of the middle, something we've been pretty terrible at for a while.

What player on our list could we possibly have that Sydney would want?

Dunno possibly Trengove, Howe, Toumpas maybe even Watts though probably not that last one.

He and Garlett could go to court on the same day hand in hand. No such thing as bad press!

Or maybe they do.....

Why? He defied the leadership group pretty spectacularly. He has a lot of growing up to do.

It really perplexes me how so many GWS players don't seem to care about:

a) living away from home

b) earning well unders compared to other clubs on offer

c) playing in the NEAFL every second week

d) playing in front of 3000 people in home games

Some AFL career that is. I really didn't think it would be that hard to shake out a developing midfielder from there. Doesn't need to be Shiel or Treloar, but Coniglio would be a good get.

ive been saying this for weeks. He isnt as big of a dh as people have been led to believe, his talented though not a grade and has three younger brothers all hoping to get drafted and with talent.

The GWS pact, L, the GWS pact.

Obviously Boyd didn't want to hang around.....

He was picked up at pick 11 in 2011 and has played some great footy. Even with his indiscretion, there is absolutely no way in hell that GWS would trade him off for pick 23.

Also, I went to school with him and hear from mutual friends that he is quite happy in GWS at this stage, may look to come back some stage in the future though.

Yep, good oppertunity to swoop on the GWS players while the cage is rattled. Splash some cash around.

maybe we already have? maybe they want too much?

just sayin

I dont think anything is quite finished yet. We may see nothing more in terms of trades but the shenanigans that occur behind closed doors.

Dont for one moment folks think thats tomorrow is a dead rubber.. Some might say its 'just about to get interesting"

And they're probably not doing cartwheels about letting Tyson go either.

11 brownlow votes in his first full season.

Haha, true, but they were reasonably happy to move him on for Kelly.

Losing your 1st year full forward of the future would be be pretty deflating.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
