GOODBYE MITCH CLARK

Recommended Posts

OMG some posters really need to let go! Like Chip, Mitch Clark is gone. We will get a trade. The club wont stand in his way. Why care about someone who does not want to play at MFC? The pick or otherwise we will recieve will be what you would expect for someone who has his ability and his risk. Some posters are acting like Mitch had ran over their dog or slapped their child in public.

Some of us take exception to bald face liars ,particularly if they have let down the Late Jimmy Stynes.

He enters the ranks of the new breed of mercenary moron.

Look how depressed Mitch is...what a [censored] [censored] artist image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

I have no idea whether Clark has depression or not. I just wish people who have no concept about how depression affects people would stop assuming because someone looks happy they can't possibly have depression.

Yeah everyone rreacts differently to the Black Dog. Lamumba had it and also wanted out at Collingwood. His response was to play out the season, play great football and be one of their best players for the season. And now wants to come and play with us.

where do Demonlanders go when they get made to go on "holidays"? surely it can't be hell as we already live and breathe it by following this insipid football club.

You spend your suspension with the GWS recruiting department.

At first blush it doesn't sound that bad.

.. until you realise you'll be trapped in a car with Phil Scully for 4 weeks.

Who is this Mitch ???

Am buggered if I can think of anyone at Melbourne with that monicker worthy of a moments thought.

Not trying to defend Clark.

Just annoyed by people's perception of depression.

As I said in my original post I have no idea whether Clark has depression or not.

I was pointing out that because someone happens to be smiling does not mean they do not have depression. It was the uninformed comment I was annoyed with and in no way was my comment meant as a defence of Clark.

I think it's time we all just moved on from this sorry saga. It's doing us no favors as supporters to stew on this, as gut wrenching a betrayal as it seems.

Fair to say the players are equally as frustrated and it could spur on the team to show him and Frawley what they've walked away from. I'll certainly be celebrating every time Geelong lose but we should focus our energy on something positive.

After showing himself for the kind of opportunistic, money driven lowlife he is, I wouldn't take him back on our list anyway. Brisbane fans always spoke about how much of a [censored] he is in real life, so as far as I'm concerned it's Geelong's loss and our gain.

Everyone is different - fair enough. But I've stared the black dog down without a zillion dollar contract and a shiteload of professional support. I beat the bastard on my own, got on with my life and didn't [censored] anyone else over. Not easy but that's my story,

Can we all just get the [censored] over this con artist. Move on people. Let's not let this spoil our favourite time of the season where we dream big.

Perhaps we should just merge this and the Frawley thread and call it the Past player gripes thread.

It certainly is interesting to see him happy with his ex-team mates and the previous Dunn FB support post etc.

I would love to know how it all got to this point but will continue to assume our offer of a rookie spot or reduced salary must have been the catalyst for his departure. Obviously the FD see too much risk and a trade poses greater value.

It would seem a plausible situation to help explain the continued strong friendship and support of the players. Either that or the playing group couldn't care a fig about the club which would be difficult to believe but really difficult to stomach.

This story about him doing a Carey must be total horse-[censored].

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los
