You haven't read the article thent. Says our pressure in the last qtr was among the worst on record, we play GWS and it will be interesting to watch the pressure because we are playing for pick 2. And earlier he refers 'jokingly' to tanking. Well we all know what happens when you joke about such things.he is a scumbag of the highest order.

Don't like him then Jnr?

There are far, far worse than Robbo when it comes to gutter journalism and coming after the MFC. Denham and Wilson for a start.

A few jokes about tanking don't bother me. You could argue they are warranted.

Ever since Mike Sheehan retired from the Hun it has gone to [censored]. Infact robbo has made it worse.

I'm with you on Robbo.

I don't think he is vindicative like others.

I think Robbo should be more concerned - not that people don't like him - but that people don't take him seriously.

Nail on head.

It doesn't help when he positions himself as "journo of the people" or whatever silly title the Hun has given him.

I disagree. Like or loathe them Denham and Wilson are reasonable journalists. Yobbo gives gutter journalism a bad name. And who says he was joking about tanking? Just read the article and he is not joking at all. Basically suggests both GWS and the MFC are likely to tank in our game in 2 weeks - suggests keeping an eye on the pressure index.

Wilson takes a completely different tack here

I thought the way in which Wilson approached the tanking issue was an utter disgrace, and Denham is just a vindictive [censored]. Neither of them have any love for the club, that much is clear. But each to their own.

Wilson takes a completely different tack here

I had issues with how Caro ran her 'unofficial' defense line and her line that we were receiving natural justice despite Carlton not getting grilled like us but at the end of the day, she was right. Tanking wrecked young careers and set the culture back 5 years at least. We are just barely emerging now.

I just watched the Brock McLean interview from 'On the Couch' and I sympathize with what he did. People called him a rat and other undesirable names but if I was an worker that was in a company that employed shady practices like that, I would want to leave too.

Caro at times can be vindictive. I will agree with that. The article above however is incredibly fair and we need to take Caro article by article. Not everything she writes is crap.

Too steer this topic back on track...

Pressure.

That's all it is. Whether it is pressure from within or out.

I bet if you watched them train they would hit target after target by hand and foot till the cows come home.

Put some REAL pressure on them and they screw it up.

That's what they need to get over.

Oh, and this talk about getting rid of all our experienced players, really???? So put us back how many years...again??? Pray that whoever takes over from Roos will be able to continued the FULL rebuild, because that is what you are saying, a full rebuild.

What is the difference from this week and last round when you were all loving them and their effort against Port? It's the same team, at the end of the day they are human, and humans succumb to pressure, even the best of us. Classic example is Port. They were the best for the first half of the year.

Someone in the media said your best mitigation when playing against talent is pressure and that rings true to me. The good teams swarm when they dont have the ball. We have at times done this, hope to see it against 4 the next 4 weeks

The only thing I'll say on this is that, typically, she singles out Melbourne and Carlton.

What of Collingwood, or her beloved Richmond? She can't seriously believe that it has only been Melbourne and Carlton. If she does she is a damn fool.

Wilson has her established targets. That is one of a few issues I have with her. But this is off topic.

Every time I watch Robbo on AFL 360 I think this bloke could seriously be drunk, he is annoying, thinks he knows everything about the game and doesn't know when to shut up

it looked to me like Roosy was seriously pizzed off when he suggested that Roosys comments in the presser were a shot at the players.

I hope Peter Jackson makes him a phone call and tells him to be careful about suggesting the club is tanking, even if it was half jokingly

Then at the very least its one sided - no one points the finger at GWS..

Of course the AFL would sideline if you did.....its pathetic

I don't have a problem with Caro's article, other than perhaps to note that today there are only a handful of players left in the current side from the 'alleged tanking' year (Jones, Frawley, Dunn, Grimes, Jamar, Garland) that were moderately experienced at the time, and hardly any coaches and administrators.

Rosie's response.

They don't go out there with the intent of losing.

It's just that they expect to be beaten.

Losing is a habit at the club, just like winning is a habit at Geelong hawthorn swans etc..

Sums it up perfectly. The players WANT to win but can't get to that point as they just expect to be beaten, even when we're in front and playing okay. Going to take some work to turn that around.

Who has Melbourne put out for surgery as Robbo suggests?

I think he means Jack Trengove. If that is the case, he clearly is a clown.

The players we have out for surgery have either been there since earlier in the year (Trengove) or have no bearing on the make up of the team (Byrnes, Spencer). He is talking out of his back pocket, to put if kindly.

No offence to Jonesy as he's probably the best we've got, but wouldn't mind another leader like Neitz, Lyon or Barassi.

Desperately need an imposing General or two.

Neeta mighta had a 'word' or two to say about Pedo's whack

I know how important it is for fellow team mates to fly the flag... often got that job...lol

Robbo on 360 telling Cotchin what it's like to be a Richmond player during tough times

seriously the bloke is an absolute nuff

Cut the long bits off his hair and I think we have a fair idea what Robbo was pre Herald Sun/Fox Footy.

Exactly, they haven't been "put out" for surgery, they are getting surgery to fix their current injuries which prevent them from playing.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
