I can see now why Adelaide fans were keen to keep him! Plenty of grunt, gets where the ball is and is creative.

Lets see him develop into a very good ball winner next year!

Well done today!

His evasion has really impressed me today, which is great to see. Solid work in close - looks like we may have another inside midfielder!

Has a decent turn of pace, could easily become a bargain pick

I loved his shepherded clearance through the centre running side by side with Chunk, with his lovely handball and Chunk's kick inside 50. We need a hell of a lot more of that in this team.

Players taking the game on is a nice change of pace.

Impressed today.

He is a natural midfielder. Can find his own ball and has the footwork to buy himself time in a contested situation.

Given we are about 5 ballwinning mids short it was at least one positive on an otherwise forgettable day.

Agree , he was a positive today. With confidence he is still settling into the ones. Takes time to feel comfortable and develop the "soft hands" that improve skills and decision making. Tackles like a tank.

Great first three quarters. Showed all of his famed aggression and hardness but also showcased some fancy footwork and creative handballing. Struggled in the last when his lack of pre-season caught up with him. Will get better and better. Definitely a ray of sunshine on a pretty dark day.

He lacks an AFL engine. He was really labouring in the third and fourth, but that shocking moment aside, he was really promising.

Yeah I wonder how many of Selwood's 24 odd first half touches came against Riley, but he's allowed to need to develop his fitness. He barely ran all preseason. If he can get fit this preseason then he can be an important player.

As we showed today we still need plenty of mids.

Coming off the broken leg it's not surprising, will be better next year.

Up until today I was wondering what all the fuss was about Riley. He'd produced a couple of pretty average performances, laid a couple of good tackles and really looked like a VFL player. If today is what he can produce when he's fit and firing, and he can do it consistently then I am finally on the bandwagon. Aside from those two poor moments, I had him BOG for us today. Loved his inside work at stoppages.

I think you were watching another game. Riley was useless as were all the dees except Viney and jamar. Did any if you actually go to the MCG today?

No you are clearly clueless and didn't watch the game at all.

Riley was one of our best. He had 8 clearences and 7 tackles and tried to take the game on and went in hard all game.

While Mark Jamar was useless today all over the ground as McIntosh ran rings around him all day.

and may be another wedge, against our other red head.

but we need more class amongst our mids.

And he hasn't even done a full pre season yet! Very excited, watched him do it at Casey the week before, was good to see him replicate it in the big leagues against a big team.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025.
