Tappy now has his opportunity to continue an AFL career. A good game executing his job and he will be extended a week. A poor game and he is as good as gone. Fair bit of pressure on the young bloke I recon.

I wouldn't think it is nearly as absolute as that. He needs to be given some leeway for readjustment to the pace at the elite level.

It is crunch time for Tappy, but you would think he has the remaining games to prove his worth, not just one. He's earned his spot, so that's the first step.

I'm pumped to see him run out there this weekend. He could triumph, he could fail, but there's only one way to find out if he has a future at this club and that is to let him play.

I hope it is crunch time and he does what he does best and takes a few of the handbags out during procedings. He needs to get hold of the ball because I recon he is dangerous by foot going inside 50.

You didn't

I said the reason he is an emergency is we are running low on players to fill spots.

I can see little other reason for him getting a run.

If you look at our teams throughout the year, Roos likes to make players emergencies for a couple of weeks before putting them in. I don't hold out a lot of hope for Blease, but his Casey form has been consistently good enough to get close to a call up. The fact he is an emergency rather than any of the other Casey MFC players we could have named says he is very close to getting a game. None of Michie, Clisby, Evans, JKH, Nicholson, Strauss, were named emergencies despite the injuries etc.

Funny you say that Jmcor. Youre not alone in seeing his class in delivery etc. Have seen and noted it myslef. I'm not alone .

yet....yet.. he cant deliver gameday

I'm sorry it's all about gameday.

Much the same has been said of Strauss ever since he was drafted -'elite kick' just doesn't get enough of it to display this skill at the top level. It is not much good being an elite kick if you don't get the ball to kick.

Got a sneaky feeling that he'll do well this week.

Got a sneaky feeling he'll be sub, he'll have limited time to make an impact

Oh dear.......

Can only assume he will get another run under Roos' style of giving players a few weeks to show what they've got. Not warranted on today's showing at all.

Ability to cover the ground for a full game is definitely what is holding him back.

Lets keep in mind he has yet to come close to completing a preseason.... thats really what he needs to build that tank up

Finished!

Pretty much nowhere man on todays performance, just doesn't seem to have the tricks to make it as a consistent AFL player. They really do need to give him a run at it for a few weeks though to see if he can offer anything otherwise he won't retain a place on the list next year.

thought he was solid in first half, tackled well and put on good pressure, was playing forward and not an easy spot to play when ur getting smashed.

Second half he looked like he was well and truly out of gas. Needs to improve on this but liked his tackling.

Not a bad comparison really, although Tapscott is better overhead and can play forward and back, but he could never find the footy like Beamer could.

It would be a lot harder to find that much footy in a Melbourne forward line or back line, than it would in the midfield...

I'd say that his style of play will only be effect when he's more mature physically... He's lost a lot of he running ability, because his hips are made of match sticks... I'm not sure we'll ever see the best of him...

I live for the day he plays as many good games as Beamer played !

could be Yet another AFL career destroyed, by the (extra rotations x sports science)... I'd like someone to workout just how many players careers have been cut short or didn't start because of the 'flood & zone style play', of recent years.

I've never seen him do anything. He had a good debut game against Sydney and since then his played what 40 odd games ? He actually does nothing, he would average about 10 touches a game over his career. He just can't get his hands on it. I've always been a fan and wanted him to be a player but unfortunately his just no good.

He's really slimmed down, I thought.

Otherwise, not really much different to the Tapscott of old. Runs around, lays a few tackles, bullocks his way through packs, but never really doing anything.

Sorry Tappy but 44% disposal efficiency on a very low number of possessions, is not good enough. I dont see any sense in giving him another week or two as he has demonstrated over the past 40 games he has played that he is just not going to make it, the games is too fast for him and he does not seem to be capable of using his size to any great effect. I would rather we give another youngster another seniors game.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
