There's so much more to be said about this Frawley issue.

There are complexities to it that supporters seem to just brush over.

But as Ron has already pointed out, it's almost pointless to elaborate on such issues as the general Demonland populous seem to continuously spit out the, 'OMG Frawley has every right to explore FA...' (Add any other cliche you like).

Which isn't the [censored] point.

You guys are underselling Higgins a bit. Injury prone - yes, but a very good player when fit. I wouldn't mind him at the Dees, truth be told. He was the pick before Nathan Jones back in 2005 so he can't be that old, still got some good footy in him.

Just to throw a spanner in the works, I saw him at the Hawthorn Hotel early last week having a coffee.

When it gets to a hot chocolate please let me know.

The tigers really need to re-think their recruiting plan

We cant exactly be throwing stones can we?

It took us EIGHT long bloody years to get our act together and we still have a long way to go.

Thank god for Roos and co.

I must say having Roos in charge just gives me confidence he won't target crap recycled players. Also that because he is in charge we might be in a better position to land a decent player.

That's on the second date redleg when he goes from verbal agreement to signng!!

rodney eade was just on mmm. Asked about frawley he said, "I don't think we could afford Danny Frawley, let alone James Frawley". No room in cap. Probably would have to offload 3 or 4 players to pay for what he is supposedly asking. Collingwood dont need him. They have brown to come back and have youngsters to develop.

Wouldn't be surprised if the doggies enter the race for chip, he would make a big difference to them at either end and they would have cap room

You might have a strategy but it can't be acted upon until you know the answer. You can't approach guys and say will you come to us if Chip leaves. You lose an opportunity to try out blokes you may need to before making a final decision on their future.

All he needs to do is quietly tell Roos or PJ and a mystery injury will allow him to miss the last few games.

Hawthorn have managed just fine after Buddy left without having to actually rely on looking at potential trades. Likewise, I can't see how Frawley hanging out until seasons end will stifle any plans for next year or the trade period. If he leaves and we land Malceski on top of a handy compo pick it'll effectively be an improvement if you ask me.

I can understand some of the vitriol being vented by some on this site. Some like Ron B who's opinion I respect highly. FWIW I think he's gone. There has been a lot of conjecture about his 'loyal country boy' statement.

Here is where I think it's at -

Chippa 'is' a loyal country boy and a down to earth honest person. Herein lies the problem. He has handled the situation badly because the system is unfortunately based on lies and deceit. It is much more suited to people like the one who left us and now only plays cameo roles for over a mil a year.....

For the Tigers the bar it would seem it set at 8th. For premiership teams its not even a ladder position, its being ahead come the final siren on the one day in September. Thats the focus of winners and thats why Richmond languish......gotta love the poor sods...lol

Imagine the laugh those "poor sods" must be having at us...

We won't get a handy compo pick if we take Malceski as a FA? Remember what Byrnes did to our compo for losing Rivers and Moloney, he wiped it out.

Evans would love to have a reason not to give us the pick after our first pick.

That's a good point. Who knows how much it might dilute it... Securing Byrnes and receiving the compo for the two payers you've mentioned was downright pathetic and a blight on the supposed system.

Still, I reckon Malceski would bring considerable footy smarts and experience compared to Chip.

'Entitled to explore their options in FA' is a three year old term.

How can it be cliché?

Um, I think you've just answered it with that post.

How is it an outworn term? FA is in its infancy.

Free Agency a shocker for lowly clubs like the Dees.

Frawley has a lot more footy left in him than Malceski - cannot load the list up with too many blokes near the end of their careers.

After watching the SagPies today, if they were interested in Frawley before today - they will be all over him now.

Very hard to see him staying - so Roos and Co have to be very smart about who they chase - history says Roos is very good at this - even tho he is only a short term coach just hope he is thinking long term for the Dees.

How is the system based on lies and deceit? Phil Davis was man enough to say he was leaving the Crows to take up an offer from GWS. He subsequently spent the remainder of the season in the reserves. No lies, no smoke and mirrors just the truth. I think he is going but hasn't made up his mind where.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
