This is what dreams are made of. Final piece of the puzzle should it happen. Way better than Patton and probably on a parr with Lynch as best young forward. I think we are going to have to cough. up big bucks at some stage to complete our list.

Having Tyson there may be a good start. Fingers crossed.

you're kidding if you think that's all we need.

You're a harsh judge Sat. He isn't playing as well last year but he isn't playing awfully either.

Well considering he has kicked 3 times as many goals as our leading goal kicker while playing in the worst team in the comp. Also, he coach has come out and said the following:

"He was really knocked around by that perforated eardrum that he had. He's a ball player, Jeremy, he really does crack in very hard," Cameron told Fox Footy.

"But secondly his ankle has been playing up for about three or four weeks and with that he just hasn't had the ability to train."

Come on mate, get on board

Then why is he being played, what are they trying to do break him?, there is more to this story than meets the eye

Forget dangerfield throw the 10 mill at this bloke!

forget 10.Mill no one gets 10.

M$7,000,000.00 over 6 Years..... M$2,500,000.00 up front, first Year.

this leaves room for others within the cap moving forward.

I think there will be better deals to build a great team this trade period than that presented by Cameron, assuming Hogan returns to full fitness and demonstrates his class.

Everyone in Vic will want Cameron, he is fully valued given his AA and Coleman tally from last year. So the price being paid for him will be overs UNLIKE the sweet deal we did for Tyson and Salem...

Reckon there will be a couple of ready to bloom players that we'll line up and pay cheap for.

You know what... I have a feeling Geelong may disregard Dangerfield and go very hard at Cameron. I think he is worth a lot more to Geelong as their depth is lacking in their forward line. They rely so heavily on Hawkins that if he goes down they don't really have a good key target to kick to, so they have to swing Harry Taylor forward which ultimately upsets their structured backline.

That saying, that'll potentially open the door for us to then target Dangerfield with less competition provided my initial statement is correct. I don't know about you guys, but for some reason I see Cameron in a Geelong jumper.. Suits him.

not just the Catters, but the Hawks & Blues & Pies & Bombers..... & Us, & just about all others bar Sydney.

Not for me thanks, as good as he is. The final piece of our key forward puzzle is a tall forward who chops out in the ruck, Cameron isn't this. I'd rather go after Boyd at the end of 2015 or Gorringe, McBean or Tarrant at the end of this year.

Reckon Geelong, Hawthorn, Collingwood, North, Carlton and St Kilda will be the 6 most likely.

Unless it is something absolutely ridiculous, I'm not sure you can pay overs for a player like Cameron. I would want the club to go all out. He's not the final piece of the puzzle, but he would be an enormous get, especially for a team at our stage of development.

Re Sam Reid, not interested unless it was bargain bin. Wouldn't be nearly as hyped without his brother being the player that he is. Very underwhelming player.

I think Hogan will be better.

I think that Hogan, Cameron & Dawes will be better still!

The better teams would have to give up quality players to make it happen

er let me think, Hawkins, Tippett as he approachs full fitness, Walker as he approachs full fitness, Franklin, Jack Riewoldt (if Richmond get it together)....Hogan once we get him right will be better

Yes but the only one we have is Hogan and the others are all a lot older and short term.

I cannot see GWS trading Cameron before his current deal finishes without huge compensation.

We should chase him hard throughout 2015 though. Players don't usually get their worth once they decide to leave and nominate a club.

I think that it is a no brainer. It would have to be Cameron for reasons highlighted by many of the posters here. To me Cameron could be the lynchpin for us seriously contending a Premiership, plus his presence in the team would prove to be a big incentive for our other top players to stay for the ride! Having the top CEO, top coach and best full forward in the league is a pretty enticing package for players to come knocking on our door.

lets think laterally, if there are issues up there, our weakness's are Mids & class runners. what if we didn't spend a fortune on one player, but rather on a couple of others?

for balance, Boyd or Patton would fit better as the talls, rather than 3 similar types of 6'-41/2" ish running around together.

I'd rather find a Big Tall, & also a hard allround Mid. this I think would add more to a Champion Team, rather than a team of ch'''''.

So everybody loves Cameron, and Viney and JKH and Nathan Jones, and Salem and Tyson and Frawley and Tommy Mc and now Dunn, how much money do you think the Club has at the moment with just 35000 members and now no support from the AFL....the Geelong and Hawthorn models are based on players all being on equal salaries and playing as a team, so was Sydney until Roos left

What are you talking about? We have a minimum cap and we have to pay it. The 35,000 members is irrelevant. Further, we still get financial support from the AFL...

Saty, you should find a new job that requires you to put words in the mouths of others.

You're quite good at it.

If he really is looking at leaving them we should throw everything at him. To be all australian in a team like GWS and at 19 is amazing! Would be a great addition to our fwd line and to have him, Dawes and hogan in there would be great, and as BBB said, if neeld and schwab could sell the dees to Clark then roos and pj should be able to do it better especially now that we can be seen as going in the right direction.

You just named 2, 1 million dollar forward recruits.

Anyway, I'd throw the sink at him. I'm not sure that's the Paul Roos way of doing things though, but I doubt he'd scoff at a 10 year star forward.

There'll be others exiting along side him, so it's going to get interesting.

I'm sure a big win against Hawthorn will change the mood around GWS.... lol

4 and 5 for Cameron and treloar?

Haha, we'd be laughing with this. That said, if GWS hold out for another year, I'm not sure too many teams would be able to offer two first round picks. I think it's still short. They'd have to do the deal if it was two picks for one of them and they'd signalled their intention to leave.

You're a harsh judge Sat. He isn't playing as well last year but he isn't playing awfully either.

If Cameron played for the MFC, Saty would claim he was the next coming. That sort of bias I understand, but it's not helpful in this instance. Cameron is a gun. It's understandable that he has a couple of quiet weeks in the youngest side in the comp. I'm almost certain Roos would love to have someone of Cameron's talents. Our issue is do we need gun midfielders more?

Not what I said at all.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
