Unless they deem the contact/impact too low for a report , then he is in trouble.

He'll get a week

Which is ok because it's the bye.

Yep - one week. Stupid thing to do really. It wasn't body contact or presence-pressure, but unnecessary use of his arms. He would have been very important vs Port.

If he gets one week he'll be cherry ripe for Queen's Birthday. Ready to rip someone's head off. I'd take that.

I've noticed it creeping into the game and Dawes does it a bit. Pushing the player in the chest who is disposing of the ball to stop him running on. Dawes does it all the time.unfortunately got him high.

This is where the system is flocked. Chapman clocked two blokes with a raised arm and I was staggered that noting much was made of both.

Does he have carry over points? It could be deemed low impact

I reckon he might have a week or two off.

Hope not but this is Melbourne and we always (sorry most of the time) get screwed over.

Very stupid thing for him to do. He has been injured for such a long time and we didn't need this.

I missed it, which end was it and what did he do?

I was up the city end and didn't notice him do anything wrong.

A late slap that wouldn't have knocked the fluff off a cappuccino. Boom boom.

But unfortunately dropped the Richmond player like he was shot!!

Probably Gawn for a week or so, knowing our luck. Hope Chip will be up and about.

Just challenge whatever weeks he gets. Put him in a Collingwood tie and the bafoons at the tribunal will let him off.

The one thing in his favour was that, even though it took Rance 30 seconds to get his bearings, he played out the game with no troubles and didn't require anything like a concussion test. Hopefully he gets a reprimand with some carryover points as, really, there was little in it, but who knows what the MRP will do these days...

Barely touched Rance, he got up and had no ill effects from it. Nothing to worry about.

Actually this may be in his favour.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
