The right hand may well not be aware of what the left hand's doing when it comes to team selection at our VFL affiliate. Jordie McKenzie has been given the tough assignment of playing for Melbourne on Saturday against Carlton and suiting up for Casey a day later against the VFL Cats.

The team:-

B: Jetta Davis Nicholson
HB: Toumpas Panozza Hunt
C: Strauss Trengove Blease
HF: Best Smith Riley
F: Byrnes Fitzpatrick Petropoulos
FOLL: Jamar McKenzie Gent
I/C: (from ) Barry Clisby Ferraro Godfrey Harmes Morris Page Rosier Salem

The Development League team to play the curtain raiser v Port Melbourne

B: Corry Waters Hillard
HB: Godfrey Welsh Westrupp
C: Scott Ferraro Hunt
HF: Rosier Fisscher Anderson
F: Lang Thwaites Rutherford
FOLL: Thomas Page Harmes
I/C: (from) Collins Corrigan Drew Jackson McDonald Meadows Murray Plummer West

POSTSCRIPT The above were the teams as announced on the Casey website but subsequently different teams have been posted elsewhere. I'm not sure who to believe but all I know is that it's likely that a team wearing Casey Scorpions colours will run out against a team wearing Geelong colours at Casey Fields on Sunday afternoon. Some of the above players might be in their respective line ups.

Would be nice to know the true story about Garland.

Why bother leading us to believe that Col would resume this weekend if untrue.

Smithy I am astounded you still give any credence to the muttering from the FD about injuries.

I believe now when they run on to the ground on match day

I believe he could play this week if we really wanted him to.

But also that Roos is deliberately laying a precedent.

That you may not be dropped for poor form if no one is capable of replacing you.

But you will not be promoted to the senior side unless you have demonstrated that you can perform the non-negotiables at Casey, or at the very least over a period at training.

And making an example of key senior players is a good way to strongly deliver the message to the playing group.

I seem to remember when we went well in the reserves, we came good a few years later in the ones, Lovett and others, what Roos was saying about getting the twos right makes so much sense, and it was good to see the goal highlights package from the Windy Hill game. Have to start watching casey more closely.

Jesus, may as well drop Jonesy for his final quarter then. Garland has to be an automatic in when you're KPD's are Georgiou and Pedersen.

According to Casey Scorpions twitter account there is a Garland playing for the development squad. Can anyone confirm if that is Colin? If do great news if he getting a half of footy in today.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
