I love the segment each week. Have to admit when Bomber started at the cats I had my doubts but listening to him over the year has been an eye opener.

I hope the players watch it each week as it must give them confidence we are on the right track.

What?....supporting an MFC coach, surely this can't be Demonland, especially after Roos said two of the players who are improving are Roh Bail and Matt Jones, sack him, Demonland knows best.......

I like that being dropped isn't the end of the world.

Because it isn't - but it has been treated as such for a while now, especially with our kids.

It isn't a lack of faith, it's a lack of form.

Considering that he made over $10 million in a land deal a few years ago, and half owns a thriving electrician business with his brother, wouldn't affect his decision one iota.

Don't think he did make that sort of money.

In fact, those were the projections but it all fell through.

Costa and co. set him up well. Think you will find he came across cheap industrial land around Geelong's outskirts for 3-400,000 and sold it off for multi millions. I think angrydee is on the money.

I know all about the situation, and it didn't pan out.

They all got a hell of a lot less than they banked on getting.

Well short, and their money was tied up in a white elephant.

Even if Bomba didn't want to, he needed to go back to coaching to keep the cash flowing in.

Bomba will be going nowhere.

I just watched "The Hanger" of Fox Footy and the segment focused heavily on Thompson and his coaching philosophies.

He is so emotionally attached to the EFC I'd be very surprised to see him leave. He spoke of his wife's disappointment that he was returning to head coaching duties but was ultimately comfortable that it would be for just the one year. Said he wanted to be more involved with his other businesses and be a better husband and that the assistant role was allowing that.

If he came to MFC his wife would divorce him.

maybe assistant at melb? working with ratten or rawlings? who knows what will happen.

Odd.

That's not what his brother says,

You are completely full of it and know Fark all .

He is a multi due to the deal.

Have you seen how developed Geelong is now.

Do you even know where the land in question is?

Maybe the $$$$$$ will compensate for that !!!!!!!!

Of course I do.

It was the area for the shopping centre at Armstrong Creek.

Do you?

He probably still has money, but that deal was not a good one for any of them.

Nothing close to what they banked on.

Close to $10 mill from a 400k outlay.

He must be devastated.

Where can i get myself a terrible investment like that? and 400k to invest in the first place would also be helpful

Like I said, it didn't pan out like that.

And he only had a $400k share of the land.

I think Corcoran and another Essendon crony was involved, and a bloke from Richmond.

Forget the names.

Dodoro. And Mark Casey. Essendon Coterie member.

Not Richmond, must have been thinking Clinton Casey.

Reckon it was a downpayment for his Essendon assistant job?

Not sure how you pay $400k and get a quarter share of a property they purchased for $3.8mil

Bomba wont coach beyond this year. he likes his new lifestyle too much. Young new wife, lives in port melb and everything that comes with the area!!!

on the other hand he's admitted he's enjoying coaching, has Roosy in his ear every week, who couldn't use the pay packet we'd offer him.. optimistic?

Lost your tongue on this one?

Anyway, how is the shopping centre going down at Armstrong Creek?

You even been there? It's desolate.

The area is swampland (hence no one having built there previously) and it will cost more than originally thought to build there.

Special piling systems required, you see.

No return on that land coming any time soon.

You may be right GT, but to my reckoning he's aged incredibly poorly since coming back to the bombers. Looks 10 yrs older already.

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
