yeah everyone likes free beer tastes extra better

Sure does and better still when we've won, Prodigal Son calls it Won Beer. Last year, after the GWS game my wife called to see when I'd be home. Told her I'd be home after Won Beer. She couldn't work out why I got back at 1:30am, obviously she'd misheard me!

And the funny thing is all the guys totally understand your brilliant decision, but yet all the lovely wives think we are irresponsible alcoholics.

Yeah it's about time we got a pub closer to the "G"

A couple a jars prior to the game.

Then hop a Tram to the Game.

Or walk if you can.

It all sounds pretty tribal to me.

Was there on Sunday. Didn't look like the place that would have a gentlemen of that girth behind the bar. They had a range of beers on tap (for a price) with some craft and international ones. Couldn't get a draft. Some nice upstairs seating areas and an outdoor area. I get the feeling it may have been gentrified recently.

I'll have you know I have been omitted from some the finest institutions in the world.

And forced to remain on occasion also.

I had a squiz at their website which is already displaying "Proud Sponsors of the Melbourne Football Club"

A few years ago a heap of apartments were built behind it. I think the developers would have liked to level the entire corner & start again but the Heritage mob stepped in & saved the pub - or at least the shell of it

It's had a fair old makeover since I last frequented it back in the 80's and '90's. There's no ash trays & not much mission brown in evidence. I wonder if they made the floors level.

Might have to have a beer there this season & find out

I remember having the arm twisted after 6.00pm on one Sunday Night in Blackwood. much drinking & singing on the table was done, & not much nibbling. ah the backroom bars after hours...

Delusional types frequent the mountains of Victoria. The altitude Has dire effects on those without the proper inbreeding.

Time for the truth Biff. Lordweaver told me he considered you incorrigible. Being omitted I can understand. Forced to remain suggests, that some crime was committed and you were a primary suspect. While you are considered a person of high standing at the Gat ( and I applaud this) I'm afraid you'll never make it in the polite society of Romsey ( or anywhere else).

I'm just telling you this as a friend.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
