That makes no sense whatsoever.

Then you are not that smart.

Rude yes, but smart no.

Makes a lot of sense to COMPLETELY restructure every layer of the club since our record since 2006 has been the worst of ANY club in AFL history.

Having trained in a MFC jumper with a collar, I can categorically say that I don't notice them, so would be surprised if they were uncomfortable to play in

i agree with this. I train in it and wear my jumpers a fair bit and to be honest. i have never noticed the the collar to the point where it became annoying. Its different but i dont think it would be a factor in not playing decent football

At some point it might be a waste of money.

Again, I hope they don't have any designers on contract and they are just going to ask NB for a normal guernsey with, you know, the right colours.

Everything else is peripheral and if worried about for too long - a waste of time and money.

You can't criticise Schwab for worrying about these piddly little things and then spend your time worrying about what he did to these piddly little things.

I guess when your team is shizen, all you have left is the piddly little things...

oh there is lots i could criticize Schwab on, but we know what they are already.

It was the piddly little things you speak of that were used as camoflouge to blind us all as to what was really NOT happening within the club.

I can take both sides here.

I agree that we shouldn't focus so much on minutiae like this. If someone asks my opinion (and sometimes if they don't), I will give it but as far as the club goes, they need to stop dwelling on crap like this. To a large extent, we should forget about Schwab. His reign was an absolute disaster. While the damage it caused has yet to disappear, you won't hear PJ mention it anymore. He knows that he and the club will live and die on what is served up now.

As WYL said, Schwab used a lot of this crap to hide numerous elephants in the room. It might have made sherry drinking, range rover driving Melbourne suburbanites feel a little warmer inside but it didn't make the team play any better nor did it expand our supporter base. It was akin to distracting a cat with a laser pointer.

Im surprised some have such dislike for the logo. Is it the logo or Schwabby they dislike really here. The logo/crest has some decent heraldry about it. Its eminates that we werent created yesterday that theres history and pride to the club. I like it. Quite frankly I prefer it to some cartoonish ideal of us. Thats fine for Newspaper banners etc and for the mascot but emblem are emblems and supposed to impart something. The current logo though fairly new evokes tradition. Im fine with that.

Maybe when we start playing like them then we might concern ourselves with looking like them

Agreed, as i said earlier PJ is creating a clean slate.

The only thing to do.

The logo i personally like. It represents a lot since 1858. The logo goes beyond Schwab.

The Blazers should be sent to the Brighton Grammar Uniform Shop in Church St. :)

Lol. So when you like something it conveniently 'goes beyond Schwab', but when you don't like something then we have to PURGE ALL OF THE SCHWAB.

Bahahahhaha

I'd call you a fool, but even that'd go over your head.

Do you ever stop before positing and think "what does what I'm saying even mean?"

It might be a worthwhile exercise. Then again...

Positing....Do i ever wonder what i am posting??

If you were happy with the way Schwab & Mclardy ran the club....Fine.

I wasn't...& i think Jackson may agree on that one.

Hmm looks like he could play midfield

Maybe we should get him at pick 57 ?

Don't forget the near black navy blue and blood red on the jumper. Apparently that helps us reconnect with our heritage... or something.

P.S. I'm keeping up the great Demonland tradition of imbibing whilst posting hence my foolishness.

Or something.Photo suggests needs a cuppla good preseasons.

McQueen had the temerity to recently ask me what time I started drinking today ?

I have recently spent a considerable sum for a jumper with my name, in very small print but centrally placed, upon it. It has a collar and stars as has the insurance company version and the one with the idiot energy saving sponsor on the back. Badge of honour or clear indication of personal stupidity and/or club turmoil.

As a nine year old I sat at the front of the second level of the Lady's Stand and watched our last premiership. In 87 my brother and I sang the club song from early in the last quarter as we demolished North and South and then sat distraught at Waverly in the fickle hot north wind as the Hawthorn thugs stole their victory.

I still have a jumper from my childhood. It is wool and has many holes around the seams and the blue is dark and the red is deep. It is not Fitzroy maroon lite it is deep blood red.

Let it be so.

Skin and can't play AFL.

He sounds perfect for us!

Wait someone needs to check he not a mid fielder as we all hate that position in the MFC.

It the MFC way or the Highway!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
