Yeah, Sydney have all but conceded the let Stone go to be with Melbourne, as he lives there and commutes.

May not have put pen to paper yet, but will happen

Richard Colless is going to regret those comments he made last week.

If he can remember them.

Colless also offered him a 50% pay cut to stay up there.

He started all this for no reason.

Old Timers disease is creeping in.

Under the guise of 'go get em Roos' I have just made comment on one of the most ludicrous pieces of journalism I have ever read. Fill free to follow suit.

In case you cannot get through on that link the article is 'Paul Roos on dangerous ground'.

I still cant believe he is our coach

I dont think ill believe it until I see the first pics from the first training session with him on the track with the boys.

The more that Colless and the Swans burn their bridges with ROosy, the more chance he stays long term at the MFC i think. Hopefully, anyway.

I agree HH, but it is also clear to me that there are journalists who regard teams like the Swans as immune to criticism. Ok, we didn't get a priority pick but the Swans, GWS and the Gold Coast get so many concessions that equate to so much more than an extra player choice. [censored] me to tears.

What rock have you been living under?

(I hope he signs, just for the puns)

Stone signs with us, Colless's composure crumbles.

was it 55% wow even worse.

Tight ass

I think we should talk about the figure and not the percentage here.

He was getting paid $400,000+ to coach their Squad.

That is very big biscuits for coaching effectively a Thirds squad.

The SFC want to cut that to $200,000 which I still think is a very good figure considering the actual job to be done.

If that helped get him to the dees then great but IMO $400k was way over the odds for the job.

But that's not Roos's fault that they had so much cash to throw around to begin with. It's the AFL's relentless drive to give interstate clubs a leg up that has created this. And, of course, when a club is so used to getting anything they want, when something doesn't go their way it's as if the sky is falling in. People talk about the Swans culture, and rightly so, but it's a damn sight easier when money can paper over any cracks and that, my friend, is exactly what happens.

COLA aside, I've never really had any great issue with the Swans. An ugly side is being revealed here.

Colless always has been a tosspot, I guess.

If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same: Kipling. Very easy to cope with triumph. Harder, as we have done, to deal with disaster. Especially when the Afl tells the Swans that they will never have to.

To be fair, if the situation were completely reversed we would all up in arms about the poaching going on...

But I would like to add that I don't care. Get the best!

If the situation was reversed I'd still be pinching myself that the AFL paid for us to get Tippett after we've just won a Premiership.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
