71 Molloy 266 Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/pp-brisbane-lions--elliot-yeo Wants out of Brisbane. Young, good size, can defend and rebound. Would slot nicely into our back 6. Quote
TheoX 1,222 Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 He'd likely want to go home to WA. Not sure we need more defenders anyway, if that's where he plays. Quote
drdrake 3,203 Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 He is the type of defender we need a quick hbf type that can kick run and carry defensive side got better this year and will most likely over time push onto a wing. Don't be so sure on the return to wa 2 Quote
RalphiusMaximus 6,112 Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Did really well in the agility tests at the combine and has shown that he can play. We could do worse, but as has been mentioned, would probably want to go to a WA-based side. Quote

71 Molloy 266 Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 (edited) Yeo is uncontracted from what I can work out. Anyone else think he fits the half back flanker mould the swans love? Could be a Roos type of player. A bit of Malceski / Mattner about him. Edited September 18, 2013 by 71 Molloy Quote

CBDees 3,167 Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 If we release Craig from the last year of his contract we save $400,000 which we can use towards Swallow! Quote
spirit of norm smith 16,679 Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 I was a big fan of Elliott Yeo when he played for WA UNDER 18s. He is an ideal HBF w/o runs the lines & has elite disposal. Worth investigating. PSD#2 would be good. Stuff the Lions. Quote

pantaloons 2,019 Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Apparently the Eagles are already into him. Yes. According to the Hun just now, he is "keen to be traded to West Coast". A sad end to the winning combination of Yeo and Gabba. 6 Quote
Machsy 2,858 Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Even if he were keen, I think there are better out there we should be targeting, and his type are easy to come by. 2 Quote

FC Melbourne 108 Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Off to west coast for a 2nd round pick. Steal. 1 Quote
Gawndy the Great 9,011 Posted April 29, 2024 Posted April 29, 2024 Reopening this thread 11 years on. Do you give the guy a 3 year contract (2+1 contingent on games played) ? Looks to be back in shape and form. And The Couch mentioned Eagles are holding off contract talks. If Im Yeo question is do I want potential success and money (at Dees) or comfort and losses. Would immediately add to our ball movement and is measurably better than Hugh McCluggage. Always loved him as footy player. 3 Quote
The end is nigh 447 Posted April 29, 2024 Posted April 29, 2024 Not a one club player, but feel the allegiance is strong and he’ll love handing the reins to Reid. He can always drop back to half back if his body holds up but his speed wains. Would love him to play for us but can’t see a way it eventuates. Would rather see us draft kids with our picks. Mids and Noah Yze. 1 Quote
rjay 25,424 Posted April 29, 2024 Posted April 29, 2024 I thought the time to move was at the end of last season... Great player. 1 1 Quote

dee-tox 4,835 Posted April 29, 2024 Posted April 29, 2024 We won't pay him what the Weagles are paying him. At 31/32 and only averaging 10 games a year for the past four years the Weagles are right to hold off talks. I'd rather someone with less miles on the clock. 3 Quote
Biffen 12,949 Posted April 29, 2024 Posted April 29, 2024 Dane Swan is still getting a kcik in the bush leagues. 1 1 Quote

Unfortunately you are correct, he would be the perfect replacement for Brayshaw. could we offer him good $$ for 2 years. We do desperately need that extra classy midfielder that Gus was. Big hole in our side atm 1 Quote
