We're not "aiming" for 37K, it's what we're "expecting".

I haven;t really heard any targets in particular other than the 37K which you are correct is what Jackson said we are expecting; however in the absence of any other information I take the "aim" and "expectation" of 37K to be one and the same. Either way my point was more about what I think our targets should be - with a good showing early in the season I don't see why we couldn't tap into a couple of extra thousand to push us up to that 40K mark giving us a solid base to aim for 50K in the next couple of years.

We will sit around 37k until we start playing good footy & winning games. The idea of getting out to Casey Feilds & getting into the schools & community is a good one & potentialy could win us some more members but not until we have a team that wins games & players emerge that kids will idolize. Lets be honest nobody wants to support a bunch of losers.

If we finish less than 40,000 this year it will be massively disappointing! If we can all convince one or two mates into rejoining [or joining for the first time] we can easily make it especially when we are 28K+ to date!

What, disappointing to have anything less than a 20% increase on last year when just coming off a 2 win season? Paul Roos may be a miracle worker, and while it would be nice to exceed 40k members, let's not get our expectations too high.

28,582, should hit 30K easy by round 1, you would hope we hit the 32K mark from this position before round 1 and then based on team performance against Saints and West Coast 40K is a realistic target.

4th March 2014 - 28,582

5th March 2013 - 24,801

A decent 3,781 up at least. It would be great to go into Round one having chalked up 30K as a club.

I always like to put an estimated revenue figure, work on a red and Blue membership at $199 as an average. The extra 3,781 represents around $752,419 revenue

Have we ever hit 30K before round 1 (2011?)

22nd March 2011 we passed 30K and had 30,066 recorded on that day. And it was 2 days before the start if Round 1, 2011.

Last 6 days have seen another increase from 110 a day to 140 a day.

We should get to 30k pretty handily by Rd 1.

Win that game and 40k will also fall quickly.

Jack Fitzpatrick rang tonight. Said he wasn't sure if he was playing against Hawthorn

I congratulated him for his 2nd half of last year and wished him well for this one. Told him the team deserved some success

He took my money

Seemed like a fair exchange

29114, forget about 30K by the start of the season, we should have 30K by the end of the week. with 2 weeks before the season we should be pushing for 32-33K before the season starts.

If we keep tracking at 100-140 a day we will get to between 30,800 and 31,500.

32-33k is a bit ambitious before Rd 1.

And I think the outcome could also in part be determined by how we ggo against hawthorn in our final hit-out before the season starts. If we manage a total capitulation, then we could see memberships dry up until we show what we can do against the Saints. Of course, having said that, I don't expect us to capitulate.

You would expect a spike before round one, a lot of people leave it to the last minute.

wow that was a big jump from when I last looked it was about 27600 odd , easy 30 by weeks end , I hope

29,114!

More than 1000 in the past week and a bit - 1400 actually, which is a great boost but still 7500 unsigned from last year. Should be able to set some kind of record whether we make 40,000 or not.

I reckon he will play and I think rpfc may well think the same, having picked JF in his UF team. Clark's not ready. And Dawes is only a chance at this stage.

Someone has to help Spencer in the ruck. I don't see anyone but Fitz ready to do that atm.

Interesting that people keep asking how we are going to get Clark, Dawes, Hogan and Fitzy in the same team.

Does not look like being a problem too often rpfc

God forgive me for saying this but the help will have to come form Pedersen and Fitzy

TO be honest I doubt the Hawks game will have any effect whatsoever. Most people wouldn't even know a games on let alone the result and even if we get flogged its a bit "out of sight out of mind" due to no media coverage. Only the few hundred diehards on places like Demonland would really know or care about it.

How's Gawn tracking? Haven't seen him in NAB but didn't think he was injured??

Hope you're right... but I get the feeling the press would get hold of it simply because of the fact it is the reigning premiers playing the Paul Roos coached Demons... it's newsworthy.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
