If Boyd is as good as some are suggesting I'd take him. If we end up with too many good KPPs - and that's a big if - then we could trade one out. Trade value for good KPPs is very high.

Would want an absolute A grade midfielder in exchange. Sloan, Murphy ,(Nths ) Swallow, Cotchin ( no not Martin tks) would do it for me. No interest at all in B graders or multitudes of them. Who knows what Essendon's position might be though and of course minor issue is gaining the pick in the first place. If we get it I hope we trade as tough as nails as it would be a nice position to be in.

There is no chance of this happening... they interviewed Vlad on SEN this morning and one of the things they were discussing was GWS and growth of the club and all the positives that lay ahead despite a terrible 2013. One comment that caught my attention was "They have Tom Boyd coming to the club".

I don't know if anyone can get transcripts from SEN, but that is pretty much word-for-word what he said. I've also heard from a decent source that GWS have told Boyd to shut up shop for this season and make sure he is right for pre-season, hence the reason he hasn't been playing for the Eastern Ranges. Only way I can see him playing again this season is if they know Geelong off this week and make the TAC Cup grand final.

Time to look elsewhere lads.

.... what if we got Boyd, who'd be ready to go for the 2015 season.... & Mitch Clark went well thruout the 2014 season, but he was Open to return home to Perth... & Andrew Gaff was going well & was interested in returning to Melbourne ???

entering 2015 season, we could potentially have a lineup including:- Hogan, Boyd, Dawes, Howe, Watts, Fitz, Gawn,,,,, Jones, Trengove, Viney, Sewell/Shuey, Grimes, Toumpas, Gaff, Garland, Frawley, etc...

a paired Tall KP forwardline with class around, a midfield with class & hard running, & an experienced defence...

If you shoot for the stars, you might just get there. If you shoot to be average you are very likely to get there. Carlton secure Judd, Collingwood secure Ball, Swans secure Tippet and we secured Clark. A lot of things are possible if you have a crack. Might be a waste of time for you, maybe not for others.

I think that's a good result. Gives us some tools to get involved in trades for more mature players, but still maintain a decent influx of young talent through the draft.

Opposition teams shouldn't complain as much as if we were to get pick 1.
