Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Luke Shuey has no intention of returning to Vic and absolutely zilch intention of

playing for Melbourne.

I have no more reason to believe your version of events as opposed to those that are more positive, but I think this will be pretty close to the mark.

Naysayers stuck in the pre-Roos era.

I know for a fact that at least two clubs are very interested in pick 2. I know that Shuey is viewed as a definite possibility. I know that west coast now with a coach will entertain the idea.

it was the same naysayers that said there was no chance we'd get Roos. We have and we have already grown in stature as a consequence.

we are win win. We get a good trade we do ok. But few trades ultimately come through and then we just pick up Aish or Kelly.

Why does it hurt?

And poor analogy with Freo - Shuey is a proven player and a high level one at that. You've got to give a bit to get a bit.

I just don't rate either of them (Shuey or Gaff) as worthy of pick 2, so if I'm going to part with it, I'd rather add more to the deal and get both.

You're right, the Ridley comparison is spurious, but I think Aish will be a star that eclipses both Shuey and Gaff, so to pass up a player like him, I'd want to get 2 good mature players.

Luke Shuey's Manager interviewed on SEN earlier this morning categorically stated that Shuey was contracted at the Eagles for the next two years, and wasn't going anywhere but staying at the Eagles.

Tim Gossage and Glen McFarlane need their collective heads read.

You can rule him out based on his managers statement.

Yes. He included that he's just bought a house over there and his Mother has moved over. He aint going anywhere I'm afraid.

You have been really pushing the Shuey thing Smithy! There is going to be know hiding if it doesnt happen now! Haha

I really hope it does though! I rate Shuey very highly.

I've been told the club view him as one of their most likely prospects out of the midfielders they have been looking at. Or at least that was what I heard. Whether that translates to him wanting to come and wc being willing to trade him is a different kettle of fish.

dude I heard it from has got some good stuff right but some stuff wrong as well.

I heard the SEN interview. Not sure what to make of it. Time will tell.

A mutual friend who works at ESP, it was no real

secret. I asked if it was foxing for extra $$$'s. He

said definitely not.

He also said Geelong is the most desired destination

for another target we're after but it's a case of getting

it done.

I asked if several official offers are put to a client including

from Melbourne, he cut me off and said , if it's a player seeking

more game time , it's likely they'll steer them toward that offer,

if it's an established player they'll steer them toward the successful

team.

He said Melbourne us undesirable as a club , the brand damage

and poor culture has meant young players and established players

looking for success are not evening considering advances from us.

He doesn't see us landing an established midfielder we've been

making noise about. He thinks we'll be taking pick 2 to the

Draft

I believe Taylor Adams wants to go to Geelong.

the players we are after are probably all pretty comfortable at their own clubs. My mail was Shuey was considered the most likely to move. If hd is out id expect we will go to the draft with pick 2.

Thanks for the info Sleeve

No real surprises there as to what Player managers would be recommending. Our biggest hurlde luring a player will be getting them to want to play for the MFC.

I still hold some hope we can land a couple established mids but I see us going to the draft with 2 as well. Hopefully Roos & co can pull a surprise or 2!

I think west coast would accept a straight swap - Blease for Shuey.

Wc would be the winners as Blease was 1 pick higher than Shuey in the 08 draft.

That's funny.

We should have offered Lucas Cook when we still had him, to Freo for Fyffe. That would have been an even better deal for Freo, as Cook was a pick 12 and Fyffe was a pick 24.

.. meaning Cook was twice as good

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
