Taylor Adams

Very interesting Melbourne is not 1 of 5 clubs to show interest in Taylor Adams.

Was surprised too. This says to me that we could be seriously targeting big name players for pick 2 as I thought Adams was a potential pick here.

That's wat I get out of that too!! But are we running a fine line, in the case we are not able to land an established midfielder with pick 2?? Are we putting all our eggs in 1 basket?

I suspect we were until he (his manager) told us to sod off...

such is our appeal.

I thought the only way of landing him would be if GWS played hardball and said you'll go to the Victorian club that offers us the best deal

I did think about that. But not sure that's the case the way his manager answered the question.

They asked if Melb were 1 of 5 clubs and he replied no not as of yet.

One thing I have learned over the past few weeks.

No good trying to out fox. ROOS the king of foxy moves.

Feigns with a left then cleans you up with a Daniel Cross.

I'd be surprised if we were any young player's choice- I wouldn't want to play for Melbourne (even though I love them)

I think we will be in a better position at the end of next season, as I say hesitantly; we can't get any worse... We need a period of success or competitiveness (see Bulldogs) and all of a sudden we aren't as unattractive anymore, and I think with a good run with injuries and the improvement another pre-season brings (lol think I've said this before too) things will start to get better.

We need to nail (yep said this too) this draft period with the assets we have in hand and then hopefully next season the lure of being part of the rise of the most prestigious club in the land is too appealing to ignore.

We have identified a handful of players worthy of pick 2, Adams is not one of these.

There will be a big fish, I like the fact that no one knows who it is.....keep them guessing, as a club we no longer leak like a sieve.

My guess for what its worth, is one of the already mentioned, Slone or Swallow. Happy with either.

Hopefully Sloane. But deal has to be done by nearly every other Vic club to appease the Giants. Many a slip between the cup and the lip!

Adams has met with five Victorian clubs – Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon, Geelong and Richmond.

It is rumoured Collingwood has entertained the idea of a straight swap between Heath Shaw and Adams.

The inside midfielder has played 31 games in his first two seasons in the AFL and this season averaged 21.3 disposals a game, including nine contested possessions and four clearances.

Rous said he expected Adams to nominate his preferred club by the end of the week and his final decision would come down to a combination of factors.

It’s not purely money, no. It’s very much about a place where he’ll develop, good leadership and the opportunity for success.”

this is not mfc !!

Im sure Roos/Dees fd are targeting realistic gets. They will be shopping to fill needs and not necessarily stock the window with flashy names etc.

Look to the past and how Roos went about it at Sydney.

off course MFC approached Adams . He just isnt keen on the Dees. you could hear it in his managers voice.

"Are Melbourne one of the teams Taylor is considering? " " Ahhh..... no."

Who could blame the kid with the other options hes tabling.

I look forward to the day when these types are choosing Melbourne. MFC is still the fat girl at the dance. I look forward to when she has lost the weight and the braces.

This.

Sylvia is the only player on our list who exhibits genuine A-grade talent both inside and out (not that he ever shows it consistently).

Adams has this, and is improved almost weekly.

Where as Colin is still developing after 10 years on the list

I think it's a GWS thing, you could imagine Sheedy and Scully would be badmouthing MFC every single day up there.

but I mean an offer of 450 k a year at his age to go back to his home state, play on the MCG every other week and play under Paul Roos and be part of rebuilding the great MFC is a pretty decent opportunity I would have thought.

Haha, I think your too kind to the club D26...

It hurts me to say this, but I think it would be more to do with the fact that we stink compared to the other 6 or so other teams chasing him.

Taylor Adams is just another gutless player that doesn't have the balls to join a club that will need to put in the hard yards and require massive amounts of heart and dedication to lift it back to respectabiolity

Just another entitled kid that wants an easy way out and cruise along the easy road

[censored] [censored] doesnt deserve to wear the Melbourne jumper

Or maybe he just wants to play for a top club that will or is having finals success and that he doesn't see Melbourne doing that for the next five years.

Seriously why are people surprised. We are not an attractive destination and we got no one else but ourselves to blame. Hopefully Roos can lift us off this rot and become a place where players see a future for this club.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
