Membership slogan for 2014

As a couple of others have suggested, Jimmy's slogan is the best -- WHATEVER IT TAKES.

My only question is: How come those Essendon ratbags have stolen it? Seems they use it as part of their Press Conference back-drop. Absolute cheek, if you ask me!!!

MFC - Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter

When you give up hope you just become hopeless.

Not for me!

I'm happy to remain optimistic when all of you guys are giving up. In the end, when the turnaround comes, and it will, I'll celebrate proudly with the knowledge that I never gave up hope.

GO DEES!

"Bottom 4 or bust"

"Where talent comes to die"

"Early draft pick refuse centre"

"D-E-V-E-L-O-P-M-E-N#%^!\^ .... No we can't even spell it!"

"Where pulling the plug is more humane"

"The answer is blowin in the wind"

"At least the training is elite"

"Bermuda Triangle Midfield"

"Where the win is players arriving on time"

"A scoreboard free club"

"Competitive... Yeah...Na"

"Free to a good home"

"Club seeks loyal supporter. If you like walks on the beach at sunset or fine wine by an open fireplace KEEP LOOKING. Must be non-smoker (landlord rules). Must be a heavy drinker and into self loathing. Masochism is a must because let's be honest pain is your friend. Must be generous with money, love and attention and expect nothing in return. I guarantee to train elite, be selective with effort and over pay underachievers. In the end all you need is love."

How good would it be to have a massive heart attack 30 seconds after a one point victory over Collingwood in a grand final? That's the way to go! C'mon OD, don't just give up and lose hope. Be determined to live long enough to see the turn around. It will come my friend. Hope will keep us alive.

Firstly Crawf Can I have my heart attack on the sunday I would like a few hours of celebration mate!

Second the problem is not that I entend to go anytime soon it is more about the length of the journey that the MFC will need to make.

IMO our list is such that it is going to take a decade to get to a GF if all things go well.

In my view very few of the current list are capable of AFL standard football and the majority of the ones that are will be too old by 2024.

We are currently in the position of a new team joining the AFL in 2014. A long journey awaits.

Old dee, you're being too pessimistic. Look at how Port Adelaide have turned it around in the last 12 months both on and off the field.

I understand the cause of the pessimism and if things don't change off field then you have ever right to be concerned about the future on field. To use a cliche, there is a lot of low hanging fruit which can be plucked readily to make significant and quick improvement.

There is one big difference between us and Port LDC

The LIST

Port had a reasonable list in 2012.

We have a shocker.

I honestly believe we should not have one in 2014.

Over the last seven years we have talked the talk but have been miserable at walking the walk.

in 2014 lets achieve something that we can shout about in 2015

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
