We've been there before and it's not surprising that this bloke (said to be a Bomber fan) was a mouthpiece for Essendon:-

Get it?

This person who was given some sort of gig by the Bombers reckons their programme was "well documented and controlled". If only they could find those documents :) :) :)

Directly contradicting Bombers own internal, Ziggy lead report... Brand Hird strikes again.

I can't see any other decision to sack Hird, while it would create another distraction for the club and players i can't see how they can move forward with him, as long as James Hird is coach i feel people will view the bombers as cheats

i hope Bomber doesn't keep going after this year and Neil Craig inherits a good list, he deserves another crack at senior coaching

i have no doubt if we didn't get Roosy he'd be our coach.

It's quite funny reading some of the news sites and the Essendon fans comments. Apparently AD made Essendon take the fall so as not to expose all the weaker clubs "who were all doing it"

Hmm Glass houses I suppose, I'm sure if I search the forums there are some fans adamant we didn't tank, or justify it with the fact that everyone else was doing it.

Tanya still doesnt realise that THE ONLY REASON AD would contact essendon was so they would self report SO THEIR PUNISHMENT WOULD BE HALVED.

they get huge discounts for self reporting.

AD was protecting them and they have burned him again and again.

There wont be any protection now....

Absolutely. They didn't get it then. They don't get it now. ASADA will **** them over big time.

Hird is playing a scorched earth kind of game. Will get a lot uglier. He will learn (eventually) that you can't fight city hall

I am staggered that Mrs Hird can dump on AD for making that (alleged) warning call to Essendon at great risk to himself of criminal prosecution. With friends like her who needs enemies.

The Hird's. I am staggered at the gall of them. We know JH is a cheat but her with legal training!

Hearsay, gossip and spin, Mrs JH says she overheard a phone call between her husband and someone she presumes to be the EFC Chairman talking about someone else, Andrew D. That will stand up in court. I think not. Spin, spin, spin. The Hird's couldn't give a jatz cracker for anyone but themselves.

ASADA have already cleared Andrew D of telling EFC to fess up because ASADA had not told Andrew D who the club was. Game set and match. Yet we still hear the bleating from the Hird sooks. Not once have we heard them say how angry they are that the players were subjected to the nightmare program that has engulfed the EFC.

The sooner this whole affair is over the better. I look forward to the day that I never hear from JH & the missus again.

Is it possible that Hird and Co are preparing thier defence? They have spent the las 18 months dicreditiing the process and the fairness of the investigation. I recon their defence to any charges will be justhat. It will then be irrelevant what the players were given because the evidence may be found to be flawed and therefore unable to stand up in court.

This bloke should be run out of the game. In hindsight I recon the AFL shoul have stood back and let everything unfold and if that meant a Melbourne Storm scenario at the conclusion then so be it. They have tried to control the issue and may as a result have handed Hird a defence.

Sorry Sass but do you mean any other descision but to sack Hird?

I just can't see that, that would just make no sense to me as they have just had him discuss his return to the club on there website that they asked sign of for from AD. I just can't see them less than a week later sacking him, why would they go through all of that song and dance of supporting him to turn around so quickly to dump him?

hindsight would say this, but the afl and efc have done everything to protect the players first and this is starting to backfire.

id imagine the way its been done was considered right.

unfortunately mrs H has seen the writing on the wall for awhile and the only leaks and stories unfolding since september 2013 have come from the H camp.this is just another roll of the dice.

What Tanya and James have recently said has virtually killed Hirds career. I also wonder if James interview on the fan site was sanctioned by the club. Little has said that recent comments have been unhelpful aluding to both Hirds. The timing of these comments appear to have a double effect of both destabilising the AFL and the club. I struggle to see what real outcome Tanya is looking for by her comments. The cynic in me tends to think that they are going to make a lot of noise and be serial pests for more financial gain. They may be looking for a fat payout to go quietly. Living in France is expensive.

ADC isn't the fan site the Bombers own site?

It may be but given Hird's talent for slimy machinations he could have engineered it. Does not sound right that the club could have approved such content prior to the start of the season..

abdicated many of their rights under sovereign law and placed themselves in the hands of WADA. This means that the Court of Arbitration in Sport is the ultimate court of appeal in these matters.

Without wanting to incur a legal bill I'm interested in the concept of "burden of proof". Could the Essendon players appeal on the basis that the finding was wrong because whilst there might have been circumstantial evidence it wasn't significant to reasonably conclude they were given banned drugs.

BTW, what on earth was Tania doing last night. They deserve each other.

As I recall, some of the EFC players were used as testing subjects for some sort of study and weren't told.

Whoever was running that study surely has records of what those subjects were given, dosages, timeline etc.

I'll try to dig up a link.

Edit: here we go:

http://www.smh.com.au/afl/afl-news/bombers-players-were-treated-like-guinea-pigs-20130629-2p3x2.html

Says that results were possibly passed on to external parties. If a third party was conducting a clinical trial, they MUST have data on it.

Also says the EFC deny these claims, so it could all be hot air.

Further clarification:

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/afl/essendon-players-not-part-of-clinical-trial-pharmaceutical-company/story-fnca0u4y-1226687451443

Looks like what I remembered were actually just 'notes' from Dank given to a clinical trial, not actually the trial itself.

Still, it means Dank has some data...

probably only for the drugs he has the letter for as said to be legitimate? so they perform tests?

anything under the counter will be in unmarked bottles for sure. maybe colour coded.

But they did, they have a media manager who would have to approve the content and one can only assume with the profile and the issues it relates to the Legal team and CEO would have signed off on it too.

All true. But with respect to the bolded sentence, isn't it odd that AD didn't feel obliged to call all of the clubs, but seemed to know which club needed warning. Assuming ASADA didn't tell him as you state, it must have been well known around the AFL that Essendon were up to no good.

Their so-called Doc would have been rubbed out by now if it wasn't for AD trying to help the club and then threatened with court. What a bunch of dirty ingrates.

I like Tanya's quotes that "we were told at a time when we shouldn't been told that". Squeeeeeeel' squeeeel like a pig.

Tanya is either deeply into the scheming, and / or resurrects the stereotype of the blonde bimbo !

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
