Catching up on the week's reading and found this gem from Patrick Smith who's keeping up the attack on Tird:-Essendon owes Hird zilch but Bomber deserves whole lot better

A friend who has been 100% pro hird thru all this, last night tells me, that the only option for the club is to get rid of hird! while he stays the club's going nowhere

Lose and the bombers will just appeal.

Win and asada will issue show cause notices anyway

On holidays big fella???

How are the future leaders of the country treating you?

And how can we as a club celebrate the ineptness of the bombers.?

Is that the case? or is the cause related to a breach in the contract with the club conducting non ethical behaviour in general or directly to that person? it would be interesting to know if Zaharakis would be subject to the clause as it would be difficult for Ryder to walk under that clause with Essendon not yet guilty of drug cheating officially.

Failure of duty of care, I believe is the technicality.

Should be an easy one to win for the players.

What was injected? EFC- We don't know. We have no records.

Where is the duty of care? Non existent

Gulity = Player can walk.

IMO

Shocking that it isn't that simple. If it was surely Workcover would have ripped them a new one by now.

Either we're missing a piece of the puzzle or there's some silly buggers being played by some powerful people to keep the club out of the poo.

Amazing isn't it.

From the outside it is obvious that they are low life cheating barstards (EFC)

The power of power!

If you have money & contacts and are prepared to take everyone/thing to court, you can get away with many things.

I am hoping that the Weapon stands by his claim, does not negotiate and takes them to the cleaners in open court. My guess is that they (EFC) will pay just to shut him up.

I still think workcover will provide the biggest stick in the end. (For that new one)

Assuming the court sees in favour of ASADA on friday, how long till the players have to respond to the "show cause" notice and/or be given penalties?

Apologies if this is mentioned in one of the 300 prior pages ;)

Did not say what the decision either way would be bb.

I still have this gut feeling that the players will be hit with a wet tram ticket.

And it has got stronger since the Cronulla decision.

Middleton has no history of pussyfooting. He had nothing to do with the Sharks result either.

It s a quick (-ish ) result really :)

If Middleton was to do this, it could mean ASADA would have to re-issue the show-cause notices using other evidence. But ASADA has said it could compel the AFL to hand over its transcripts of the interviews under its legislative powers.

Essendon chairman Paul Little last month questioned whether that would be the right move for ASADA to make should the transcripts be banned, and called on the federal government to provide a circuit breaker.

"The view of our legal team was that if the process was deemed unlawful, they couldn't just simply start again within 24 hours," he said.

if essendon win this case and asada are told to stop investigating it will be the biggest disgrace.

That little bit about costs is intriguing.

funny enough bb I had one at my brothers last night.

very nice affair.

I can only guess that the the Lions would put on a good show for young Patty.

Brother knew nothing re Paddy but did say what happens if he is suspended do the Lions get left holding the bag?

I said yes.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
