Rumour. Hird to stand down of be sacked

Stu, I think I'm going to give up trying to educate you. Whatever Kero said or proved or speculated, is irrelevant to my criticism of you and your flawed logic. If you cannot understand the issues here you are disappointingly silly. No wonder Ben-Hur couldn't be arsed arguing with you anymore.

I didn't start THAT thread. I made it known I didn't expect or want any action. I mentioned it as an example of how nothing has changed at our club.Oh, and the Essendon hating, Hird hunting, rumour loving Caroline Wilson just shot down the rumour in this thread... Try not to cry into both sides of the pillow.

I thought FC response was interesting too Stuie. This rumour may be wrong. Come Thursday we will know. But, subjectively speaking, I feel that with Hird having a QC in his corner, this rumour may take more time to play out.

The interesting thing is that if you listen to the MMM podcast Riciuto made it known he checked with his sources again & again for over an hour before announcing it.

Doesn't make it right, but he certainly didn't just blurt it out.

Well both things were rumours as far as this board is concerned. Ironically enough, the one you and your special little friend got up in arms about has proven to be the most true.

And do you think bringing Ben-Hur into it gives you more or less credibility?....

I agree WYL, Finey on SEN certainly put forward the respect Riccuito has on making massive statements! He doesn't make a habit of this unlike a CW.

Interesting times in the next 4 weeks with Essendon.

There is something in it.

Interesting to see what Patrick Smith has to say about it tomorrow. He will be up late tonight!!

Yep was aware of that. Hird refused to budge.

I was looking for the original story where Andrew Demitriou came out in the press & suggested hird should consider standing down,,, back sometime around April, but i can't find it. a bit too tired to look hard.

Tears are less damaging than teeth Stu.

Would hate to see your dog eared pillows.

The very least the Bummers will be found guilty of will be a major version of the 'game into disrepute' charge.

They will lose draft picks next year.

The Blooos lost acess to Wells & others in their salary cap exposure & have not reached a grand final since.

The Bummers are in for a decade of mediocraty.

Part of me says that's not such a bad thing.

Yes it would be nice to see another club wither and die for a change ........ but then again it would be really sad to see an AFL club be destroyed just because of the actions of a couple [censored].

How about the AFL just make Essendon hand Melbourne all their draft picks, give us Jobe, Heppell, Zaharakis, Davey and Stanton and we will call it even.

I bet Peter Jackson is sighing a breath of relief for no longer being at Essendon!

I am one that actually hopes Hird keeps his job, We need to be the only ones looking for a coach so we get the best pick of the bunch.

If you were Roos at the moment looking at the lists who would you prefer to coach next year Melbourne or the bummers?

Stuie there are rumours, then there are rumours. I hope you can understand this.

True. One was told to me by an extremely trustworthy friend, the other has been relayed by a footy player who works in the media and no one here knows personally....

football expert SPIKE MCVEIGH has denied hird will step down and went on to say hird was only a vitamin that would be taken orally by the playing list if needed. he then went on to say that hird may be injected if passed by asada.

now id believe spike before roo

Reports that AFL will confirm Hird IS bound by Anti Doping Code, with ASADA report to confirm hexarelin use. Uh oh James.

Yeah, looks like Ricciuto may have been on the money.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
