Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I don't know why so many attack Dunn. He has played in 3 out of every 4 games since we got him. He is in our best 22 ATM. He can play forward, back or in the middle as a tagger. He has a booming kick and can kick goals. Yes he isn't a star, but he is a very serviceable player and better than so many others we have drafted. How many stars have we drafted lately?

I could delist plenty before Dunn.

a word comes to mind....that's it....TURNOVER.

He does as much harm as good. nett effect on a ground....something hovering around....0

Untrue.

Dunny nearly always beats or at least breaks even with his opponent and he is part of a back line that was bombarded and under extreme pressure last year. He lead our rebound 50's, Was top 10 for effective disposils and contested marks.

He did however average 2 clangers per game but that wasn't high considering the rest of the team averaged about the same if not more.

He finished 6th in our BnF and people think is isn't in our best 22?

Disagree. Agree with Dan Fantastik's post.

If you actually watch his disposals most go to us. I think Chip turns it over more.

meanwhile back to what's his name

Star draft prospect Matthew Scharenberg could slide down the order as it emerges he is battling feet injuries

is this some cagey game of smoke and mirrors..?? Are we trying to get 'creative" lol

In all honesty finishing 6th in OUR b and F isnt much chop.. With all due respect given Chunk.

I use my stereoscopic calibration technique....its called watching. I stand by my view. You are of course entitled to yours.

Personally what many statisticians label. effective is laughable. He does some good I agree..its the bad I simply suggest negates it. He ought not be in any best 22 for a team that has any hopes of climbing from our lowly cellar., hes just not that good

I use the same technique, and I totally disagree. I think Dunn has been more than adequate. And I believe he will fourish under the new regime.

But,as with all things, time will tell.

We're the right place if it's feet injuries he has, we're the king of feet injuries.

Not a draft watcher so no idea of his talent other than being top 5 in most phantoms.

My questions are obviously how serious are the injuries, how long is he likely to be on the sidelines & is his talent that good that we can afford to wait?

If we're worried about any of those we can't afford to pick him.

I smell a rat...dunno why...just do

The question is whose rat is it?

Shades of Darling, Buddy, Garlett etc.

If this guy really has serious foot problems we could lose the mid we want as another club takes the mid we want. It could of course be us pushing the story hoping to get him or another club like the Pies taking another player first and hoping he slips to their second pick.

I am glad I am not a recruiter as it is really a very difficult job. That said I stand by my well known views that BP killed us.

From all reports most seem to agree that Scharenberg is injuries aside one of the best in the draft.

Personally I haven't got a clue as I haven't seen anything other than highlights videos of several players and we all know how flawed they are. As I have said previously, you could make a highlights video of my football career and make me look good and I was very ordinary. There is so much more to being an AFL footballer than a short video of their best moments.

Good luck Dees I hope the boys we take all have good careers with us.

There are never certainties in medicine . You can get input from the various orthopods who specialize in feet and get a an assessment on prognosis

There will be a probability of recovery and a probability of recurrence

Expressed either as likely / unlikely or on percent age terms

It will then be a judgement call from football dept based on the medical guesstimate and his ability

There is never a never or never always in medicine

Feet I reckon are differenet. Judd has shoulder problems but it didn't hurt is running. Buddy had social problems and a club like Hawthorn was able to keep him on a pretty tight leash, Fev was a basket case who got away with blue murder at Carlton. There are numerous examples

But feet are problematic if they aren't right.

Good on the club for getting them scanned. Sounds like they are working assiduously on all possibilities for pick 9.....

Kreuzer and Scharenberg are both German surnames.

So are Neitz, Schwarz, Riewoldt, Voss etc.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
