Betting market move

Betting agencies - as much as they annoy the daylights out of me - are rarely wrong when they alter their odds this much in a single change. Looks done. The question remains:- is he really up for the fight?

Given that only a week ago he said things needed to change, he either has very low pain tolerance (from PJ twisting his arm) or that what he hasn't been telling the media outlets the entire truth about not wanting to coach "at the moment".

What do they base these prices on? What do they know that no one else seems to?

I think the $250k bet @ $5 fixed odds from P Jackson's account has probably altered the market to some degree.

Edit - spelling

Perhaps he liked what he watched on saturday night? The list has potential!

At $41.00, do you think they'd even get a single bet on Gary Lyon, Dean Bailey, Brad Green or Grant Thomas?

if we put some money on Thomas and bring his in, maybe roos odds will slacken and we can make a killing

good way to pay off 3 mill

I think the odds shortening is probably related to us winning which maybe got a few people thinking Roos might actually be keen as we aren't a massive basket case after all.

The bookies then react to the cash coming on by drastically shortening the odds.

If Roos was really locked in they would've suspended the market.

I maintain it means very little. It would undermine Craig too much to fully commit to Roos right now. Especially considering Craig is getting some positive results from the players.

Garry Lyon had a huge bet on Terry Wallace.

gary is tight as a fishes blurter, he wouldn't spend a cent

There was a bloke at the presidents lunch who kept winking and telling anyone who would listen that, "we got our man". He was in no way connected to the club on a professional level and was completely wasted by the time I spoke to him. Maybe he is sportsbet's source?

For a second there I thought you were saying that you still had Garry's lunch money from grade 3. I was going to blame Garry's inability to choose a coach on your bullying in primary school. And his bad back.

I actually think PR has always said we have some talent and the make up of a fair team

but something is very wrong at that club

well the wheels are in motion to fix that something that is wrong

so now that something has changed he has to have another look at it

you would be right about some of those comments jjj

I don't htink I saw that Williams, Eade or Craig's odds were slashed.

There is firming odds, and then there are plunges. Not often the latter isn't from "smart" money.

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form
