Four, if you include Nick McKenzie whose name appears at the bottom of the article. Mind you, Baker and McKenzie (the journos, not the law firm) are a bit like Lennon and McCartney. Both are credited with writing what perhaps only one really produced. (And, for trivia freaks, it's 50 years this week since The Beatles recorded "She Loves You")

Thanks for the reminder on how old I am LDC!

How they claim its not performance enhancing is beyond me, how slower can some one who weighs 100kg run compared to that same person at 95? Not prob a lot but over 4 quarters and with less effort to drop the bulk they all put on it means they dropped the weight quickly and could train harder, as for during the year when they are only allowed to run X amount of ks mid week, an injection means they don't have to work as hard to maintain their weight.

Did anyone hear that idiot Robinson(AFL360) say that the investigation could not be completed until Dank had been interviewed???/

From what I believe.....Dank is under no obligation to speak to anyone......Is under no obligation to turn up for an interview.....Even in a court of law he could be summoned but is still not obliged to say anything.

This is not a criminal investigation.

Robinson is an Essendon supporter

What a joke of a journalist....

TB-500 (=TB-4) works fabulously-well with horses:

TB-500 offers many benefits to the equine world in performance racing. Recent trials by some of the world’s leading trainers on their prize winning equine members of both genders, have been credited by a huge boost in their race-day results, something long desired in the racing world.

These trials along with clinical trials have indicated the following benefits associated with the use of TB-500 on mares and stallions*:

  • Increased muscle growth with huge increases in endurance and strength noted
  • Relaxed muscle spasm
  • Improved muscle tone
  • Increases the exchange of substance between cells
  • Encourages tissue repair
  • Stretches connective tissue
  • Helps maintain flexibility
  • Reduces inflammation of tissue in joint
  • Enhances nutritional components in the animal
  • Prevents the formation of adhesions and fibrous bands in muscles, tendons and ligaments.

When these proven benefits are viewed in conjunction with the fact that 60% of a horse’s body weight is muscle, it is clear to see the full potential of TB500can be reveled in by majority of the horse’s body.

Essendon President David Evans went on line on Bomber TV to address his club's members seeking to clarify the situation with regard to player use of peptides but, if anything, the fans would be more confused than ever. Pure spin when there was no need to say anything.

Who are the parties "external to the club" who have an involvement in this sad saga? Why go into the area of whether or not AOD-9604 is performance enhancing when that issue is irrelevant to the investigation?

Worse still, by failing to clarify anything at all, Evans leaves it open for the journos to place their own spin on things in order to clarify the clarification.

Wow, and we copped a $500k fine for not tanking but employing officials who told wry jokes about it.

Go figure?

Lucky he didn't joke about it.

It is irrelevant whether the substances administered were performance enhancing or otherwise. The big issue is and always will be the duty of care to players and the massive breakdown on processes.

^^^ Good get Champ.

Send this to David Evans, his speech to the converted on the Essendrug website is just incredible.

What he is saying is just flat out false...desperate measures i suppose.

You are right they need a new name to reflect their true Values.

What about Messodon, EssDrugs, The Cheaters or just the DH Loser Footy Club?

Well the real penalty they deserve is the lose of every game over the past 15 years!

PARTY TIME as the MFC would have won its 13th FLAG (2000 Grand final).

As you can see, winning Premierships is not hard as you just have to wait for a bunch of DH to run the oppositions Clubs and the true rewards will follow ie as what will happen to the EFC.

I wonder if any of the recent ex MFC employees will apply for the soon to be vacant positions at the EFC?

I give them all a good reference.

BTW many essendson supporters are claiming that aod has been proven to be not performance enhancing

That is just not true. It has just not been proven to be performance enhancing (yet) which is a different thing

In fact there is evidence that it may have performance enhancing properties

Of course this is all irrelevant as it is banned under wada code s0 anyway

This is good stuff but in the interests of accuracy I correct one error :

"over the past" should read "over the next"

But like Collingwood they are one of the untouchable Clubs in the AFL.

Maybe untouchable by the AFL .... But luckily others are involved and they carry bigger sticks and couldn't give a toss.

Its just a matter of time. And even vlad has no control over that.

Essendon will get whacked . Not an If...just how and when.

Exactly If it isn't going to help you get better then why jab yourself with it each week?

Agreed, DC. Introducing red herrings like this might seem like a smart distraction to some, but if it is banned, then it is banned. That is the point of the WADA list.

TBH I have little faith in the AFL as they have so many discrimatory policies

The AFL may rule thoroughly and insolently only whilst it is in full control of all elements.

Such has been its ability until......

That would be now. Such is the overiding nature of WADA.

Brave new world huh Vlad. :)

Unwitting lab rats

If nothing else Essendon has shown utter disregard for its duty of care.

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out
